His precindency is the punchline! Since we're talking about him, look what he said to a grieving widow https://www.inquisit...240a3a6bbddd67d and in other news Catalonia finally declared independence only to be taken over by Spain http://www.bbc.com/n...europe-41785292 couldn't help but think about this:d64474eab69382a310adc91a077ea96a.jpg

I don't know what to think about Catalonia, as my instinct is always that it's better to hang together than pull apart. But maybe Spain has a horrible, repressive government? I admit I know next to nothing about it.

It's this, or Cluedo.

I've done some research and it seems Spain was horribly repressive towards Catalonia through the centuries, even going as far as forbidding them to speak and write in Catalan and banning several Catalan cultural traditions.

Ah. Like Britain with Ireland. *sigh* What is wrong with people? I still think there's a better way than to just turn our backs on each other, but perhaps I am too naïve. *sigh*

I wouldn't know, I don't live there. Is that why the IRA was created?

Also, I don't get it either. I mean those are your neighbours, why do you hate them because they have a different language or culture? But then again, we've always hated other people because they're different and we can't seem to get rid of our prejudice and discrimination *sigh*

I guess that's at least part of what created the IRA. I think religion got snarled up in it, too, which never helps.

At the rate we're all going, the next thing you know the US will be declaring war on Canada.

This day is very important for Turkish people.

I am sad because Today Atatürk's death anniversary who is the founder of Turkish Republic.

We always miss him. He gave to women right to vote and stand for election. He founded laic-secular state.

We love him. We will always love Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

:  :rose:

P.S. Elon Musk came to Turkey/Ankara 2 days ago and he visited Atatürk's grave. Thank you Elon Musk.

Isn't the name Atatürk meaning "Father of Turks?"

The world made so many steps back in so many places… :(

At the rate we're all going, the next thing you know the US will be declaring war on Canada.

the only war that's going on is the war on Christmas, which isn't even a war, it's a bunch of people being pissed at the PC use of 'happy holidays' instead of 'merry Christmas' grow up already!

Some good news: Trump's transgender ban is blocked http://time.com/5002...ary-injunction/, his Twitter account was deleted for 11 minutes https://www.washingt...m=.0c442acb04a7 and impeachment procedure has started it will unlikely happen but I'm entertaining the thought http://www.independe...-a8056611.html.

The other good news is that Virginia (where I live) voted in a lot of Democrats in the last election. Yay, I don't feel so alone anymore! :)
