Guy Ritchie films with Robert Downey, Jr.

Do you remember his name? He looks vaguely familiar.

Down in Williamsburg, Virginia they have actors strolling about the grounds of the old city in costume. We thought they were just there for the ambience, but we found out that if you approach them to ask any kind of question, they are each portraying a specific character. And they will NOT break character!  Ask them where to park a car, and they will ask you what a car is, things like that. It's a hoot. And if you ask anything about the city, be prepared for a very thorough answer; they are walking encyclopedias. Very cool.

The Civil War re-enactors are fun too. Most of them aren't playing specific characters, but their depth of knowledge is amazing. I spent 20 minutes one time talking to a guy about the different caps soldiers wore. It sounds boring, but it wasn't.

They have guides like that at the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey.  It's really fun if you can play along.  Be aware that they are still really pissed at Henry VIII (and after hearing their accounts of how the beautiful Abbey came to be a ruin, it's no wonder!).
