That's a first-rate Reaction Shot from RDJ.  You'd almost think that was a real punch.

The secret to these films is that RDJ and his 'Hotson' have the same kind of fraternal/best mates relationship for real as the characters they are playing.  They only met for the first time here, but just as when Dr. Watson strolled into the Barts lab on that fateful New Year's Day, 1881  . . the synchronicity was instantaneous between the two.  Being 21st century males instead of Victorian ones, the blokes can be that much more openly 'frat-bruthas forever!' with each other when they are goofing on set.  I am so looking forward to the third film if it ever gets made

You’re right Hikari, I won’t be going. Maybe one day I’ll go to one?

Just thought that I’d post this in case anyone’s interested. I don’t bother with downloaded stuff myself but this might be good.

Herl,

I just now got around to opening this.  Looks like an interesting Christmas-set Holmes mystery--opening with 'an assault in a Turkish bath'.

There's no way around it--'Turkish bath' has become synonymous with 'gay-cruising pick-up spot' in our 21st century.  Has a more poetic ring to it than 'steam room', but perhaps that poetry is part of the problem.

The Watson looks spot-on, though I can't say I find Nicholas Briggs possessing of a Holmesian face as such.  The profile is all wrong.

This article was published in May 2017 and is the latest update I can find on the alleged 3rd Sherlock Holmes film.

Asked for an update on the project, the producer revealed: “It’s closer to happening than it’s been for a while.

“With any luck we’ll be making it at the end of next year.

“I hope, we’ll see. Fingers crossed.”

Still sounds pretty iffy to me. I’m hopeful, but I’m not holding my breath.

2019 seems like a long way off, particularly if they are thinking "Christmas 2019" rather than, say, Memorial Day 2019.  That would make 8 years between films.

Watching clips of Kelly Reilly as Mary Morstan, I can't get over how very much she looks like a female version of Eddie Redmayne at times.  They could easily be siblings.  I wonder if this third movie will even include her.  When we last left the Watsons, they were preparing to go on their belated honeymoon . . but 8 years is at least twice as long as their marriage lasted before her untimely demise.  Opening with Watson grieving Mary would be very sad, but unfortunately, Watson has to lose a wife before he's free to resume the bromance at Baker Street.

With the passage of 8 years, they will have had to most likely replace 'Gladstone', the bulldog.

Can it really have been that long since Game of Shadows?  It does not feel that long.  While I manage my impatience for the threequel, I pass the time by watching old interview clips of RDJ and Jude Law on the Graham Norton show.  Those two are just exactly like a comfortably married couple in their joint appearances, finishing each others' sentences and all.
