  1. I could have sworn that we had some discussion of the discovery of Richard's grave, back at the time, but can't seem to find it. Anyhow, here's one account of the discovery and aftermath. And here's an interesting tidbit from another account: "[Philippa] Langley points out that, during his two short years on the throne, Richard III brought in revolutionary legal principles – the presumption of innocence, the concept of blind justice, the introduction of bail – and insisted that all laws should be translated from Latin or French into English so that his subjects could understand them. He was also the first king to speak his coronation oath in English."

  2. I've played a few word games, they all do the same thing. I don't think there's any agenda other than, as Carol says, making the game kid friendly. Some parents think their little darlings should be protected from concepts like rape; I'm not sure I disagree. I know my parents would never talk about money (a much dirtier word! 😄 ) in front of us kids until we were in our late teens. Needless to say, they raised four kids who are clueless about the stuff.

  3. Uhm... are you aware that..eh... you weaponized me? And I still have shoes and pun in my disposal, and it certainly doesn't go against my moral value to annoy you.

  4. Same here. I think some people confuse Facebook with LinkedIn, as far as purpose goes. I've often gotten "friend" requests from people I've barely -- or never -- met, but we know each other's names because we've participated in the same art show or something. Why would they be interested in my pictures of my nephews? I think they think they're networking, but I find it rather intrusive.

  5. And bangs makes me think of fireworks - for hair, it's a very American term, but it is coming into more common usage.

  6. She probably did think I'd come up with something. That's why she was snickering. She wasn't deliberately making fun of me. Fringe. Bangs. I say both. "Fringe" is definitely more common over here. I didn't really think about it when I wrote it in my story. I think "bangs" is more of an American word, but in all honesty I think it sounds better. "Fringe" makes me think of rugs and bad television.
