  1. I cannot really say. Alc is said to make people more outcoming but it's definitely not the case with me.
  2. Oh, if I drink enough to feel the influence, I can assure you I don't have - and I AM not fun to be with. And drunk people make me aggressive. So it makes absolutely no sense participating in the "wet" social activities.
  3. This is another story, what I meant is luxury fur. https://www.voguebusiness.com/consumers/russian-fur-market-still-growing
  4. I'm not sure how it really looks like, but I can remember bits of information that in Russia fur is still a thing. Status symbol andso.
  5. Left (actually both) handed, asexual introvert, not drinking alcohol. The good thing - not having many contacts, I don't encounter many assumptions, but I could fill a Mycroft-style file on wrong assumptions because of "but all women…" Not that I care much. I do the same assumptions about other people. It's how our brains work to save energy. I also don't bother people asking me about my accent or mispronounce my name.
  6. Sherlock would fly to Antarctica to study 457 arts of snow and talk to pengwings.
  7. Feeling like in a ivory tower. Corona is exploding in the area, we have first positive test in our office, the server at work is down since yesterday. My boss got fired… and I make my job locally, being in home office modus for two+ weeks now. All feel a bit distant. Next two weeks I'm on leave. Time to start that winter hibernation I think.
  8. Some stuff from Arwel's kind of magic https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/sherlock-designer-arwel-w-jones-theres-a-magic-to-set-design/ https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/sherlock-10th-anniversary-behind-the-scenes-set-secrets/?preview=true&_thumbnail_id=603517
  9. I doubt it. They have fired 60 ppl. for economical reasons. Reducing the staff. I would expect they fired me, but his position is kind of crucial, I have no idea how they think we are about to work. I'm glad I'm at home and miss all the drama though. They will tell me when it's all decided. I feel like the whole beeping world is falling apart around me. It started with a broken fridge and look where we are now. 😕 Did I wrote that I loathe leap years?
  10. Yes. The pitfalls of direct translation I will have to find another one. A bit inconvenient because he was few houses away from me. As for my friend it sounds like the typical conspiracy combo. "Someone wants to make money on obligatory vaccines", "less people died than from the flue and nobody makes any fuss about flu". The usual stuff. And if you ask questions, no answers but another set of usual cliches. After trying to explain things to people for 6 months, this feels like a stab in the back. I started working from home this week. The internet connection is a big problem (I'm working with files in gigabyte sizes), but finally I'm out of the office, with bunch of another corona-ingoring twats. I will come back when I have the room for myself again. But it wouldn't be 2020, if it were only good news. The guy who was organizing our team at work got fired, along with other 3 ppl I know. I don't understand how we are supposed to work now, we are only designers, none of us has any idea about financial part of the job. Writing bills. Comparing prices for print production… I mean, he was a jerk, but I don't want to do his job.
  11. The oldest and closest friend of mine "does not believe in the pandemic". But that it's big pharma complot and that it's not worse than a flue regarding over-mortality. We've had have differences in some cases, but this is too much. I've already lost my house doctor, who refuses to wear a mask, now this. Among many, many bad things. Still 3 months to go until this year is over.
  12. It's an intentional effort, a kind of will act. It's like trying to move something with your will, only you move yourself and it actually works. To stay in the air I need to keep that effort, like with swimming or biking - if you stop doing this, you will go down. And sometimes I get a bit scared of the heights. And I mostly float on my belly, like with swimming.
  13. You can check if the fur is sticking out of a textile fabric or a skin. Also - if you burn it, it will smell of burned hair or plastic (hint, hint)
  14. This. What were the alternative interpretations? I will repeat myself, but S4 is imo about expectations one has towards oneself and, actually, wanting to be someone else. Mary wants to be a normal wife and mother, John wants to be the ideal husband, he thinks Mary thinks he is - and the moral compass for Sherlock. Sherlock wants to be Mycroft. Mycroft wants to be an iceberg. All of them fail miserably. Probably even Mrs Hudson, who wants to be "just a landlady". In that scene Sherlock tells John how unrealistic his expectations towards himself were. And he says "we" because he recognized his own limitations too. And above all it's a good, surprising pun. And Mofftisses would kill for a good pun.
  15. The flying is almost always like "flying again", as if there was stored in the world of dreams waiting for me. Sometimes I suddenly realize it's a dream (several times in the last few years), but I also cannot control anything, but trying to look at things carefully. So maybe I'm just dreaming of having a lucid dream?
  16. They filmed in the actual interior of the place, only shifted the table a bit. I think changing it would be the stupidest thing for the next "owner" to do. So Speedy's might stay as it is with someone else working there.
  17. Did he actually say that? I mean, do we know that he did? I have heard what he said about John McCain. I don't believe 100% he said those words, but I think it's quite possible.
  18. Just read: "Police are appealing for information after a man attacked a 63👀-year-old NHS worker, leaving them unconscious on a bus in north London." Why THEM and not him or her? I think I've seen this form before.
  19. Usual reformatting discs will only delete the directories. The data itself is still there and a specialist can still access them. There are options on the newer devices with the names like secure delete or similar. You could try to fill your disc with some huge amount of trash data, but it would take a lot of time.
  20. Well, I rather suspect Mofftiss didn't think of Martin's shooting hand while writing the script. I wonder if any of them even noticed Martin is left-handed of ambidextrous.
  21. I bet we have some christmassy stuff already in the stores.
  22. Okay, let's see. The normal in Germany is mostly 40 h / 5 days a week. Where I work, we have 38,5 h/w with quite flexible times. Now with Corona and home office, they are even more flexible. I'm working 30h/w which is considered part-time but it doesn't change anything but the payment. We've got 24-30 paid days of vacation, depending on company. But I remember… As I was at school, in Poland we've actually had 6 day weekdays, with 46 h/w, then it slowly changed into 1 free Saturday a month, then it was 1 "working" Saturdays a month. It changed to 5d/w some time in the 90ies. When I started working I've had two weeks of paid vacation - must have been 10 or 12 days, but they counted Sat/Sun into it (or was it only Sat?) After 10 years of working you've got 1 month.
