1/10 - Awful This episode was just nauseating. It wasn't a fine craft that is complex, leaves you intrigued but still holds itself to the laws of logic. It was a mess. Full of plot holes and one liners, it brought back Moriarty only to piss on his grave. Honestly, while before I found the possibility of another Holmes sibling quite fantastic this made me cringe. A lot. Apparently Eurus has always been smart, evil, and capable of witchcraft. To complete the analogy she was even locked away in Azkaban when still a child. For drowning a neighbourhood boy because she was jealous. Instead of a normal institution they put her in a place with cannibals. It was stupid. This entire episode was just F***ing stupid. And half of it was just Saw. Moftiss probably tried to bring back the vibe from TGG and failed miserably. Greg calling Sherlock a good man when he wasn't even involved in the case and had seen nothing to change his opinion of him. If it was because he remembered his name I'll scream. I'm not even coherent here but this episode doesn't deserve a clean answer. Just anger and disgust. They took something I loved and turned it into trash. Molly deserved better. Mary deserved better. I deserved better. We all did

Can I just say it just boggles me how little crossover fanfic/fanart there is of them? I know they live across the other side of the pond but this is great material guys!!! And I'm not even talking about a Hannibal vs Sherlock showdown and more of a intriguing and gentlemanly Dr. Lecter trying to figure out what is Dr. Watson

1. Which version of Sherlock is your favorite: Original, Robert Downey Jr., or Benedict Cumberbatch and WHY? It's a draw between BBC's and Elementary's Sherlock. I think the American version has much more depth to his character but I do prefer BBC's analysis and how it is presented 2. Why do you think Sherlock Holmes is still popular today? I think it is humanity's obsession with geniuses and also the mystery of everyday life. It is the wonder you get when you realise that someone can just take a look at you and see your whole life (or at least day). Someone who has many talents, is so detached from humanity but still grace us with his presence and help. Maybe Sherlock Holmes has the same archetype as the Greek Gods 3. What does the character mean to you? Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot were the characters from the first "serious books" I read as a child. I wasn't in the fantastic world of Harry Potter filled with magic wands and great destinies. I was following along the footprints of great detectives, seeing tragedy and trying to find out why. It's one of the main reasons I'm a psychology major in college. Great stuff

Sherrinford does indeed exist! If it's a brother, older or not, is up for debate. But Mycroft confirmed his existence in today's episode

It's not AMMO. It's amo. Like in Te amo. Yeah I think the official twitter made a statement like that. I don't think it was some hidden secret/future twist that will be revealed at the end of the season. It was implied and anyone who speaks Portuguese/Spanish would notice it. If it affects the I love you scene in the trailer I think it only cheapens it. A cop out if you will. I'm not speaking as a shipper but as someone who expected a bit more from a key trailer scene than just a translation of the AGRA code

Thanks! A quick question: what's the regulation on profanity in this forum? Not that I have a particularly naughty mouth but I don't want to get flagged/reported for something so simple as saying F*** or shit.

After eating a bit of comfort food and yelling into my pillow I think I'm quite ready to give my review 4/10 - Decidedly below average I feel like Mary's death was poor writing. ACD dealt with her by barely mentioning her, but by the way this series wrote itself it was impossible to do the same with her here. Mary has a dangerous past, she is still a dangerous person. They needed to address her. Do we embrace her as part of the crew? She has the experience of a hired assassin/spy, she could be useful. She genuinely loves John even though she lies to him a lot. She doesn't depend on anyone, but doesn't give that vibe of a forced "strong female character." She is crafty and has a bit of humour to her that I find quite tasteful. But the fans don't like her. No one forgave her after she shot Sherlock. Shippers hate her for the simple matter of her character following ACD canon and marrying John. Moffiss normally don't rely to the fandom for directions. They thrive on doing their own thing, and even though we gripe about it we still respect them for the twists they pull. But instead of exploring her character, we get this. A mess of an episode, with a debatable OOC John and a rushed Redemption Arc that obviously ends with Mary's death. She deserved better. I know that many fans were claiming her head. Well now you have it. What the fans wanted but never, ever what this series needed. I thought it was above that. I guess not. Just a little note: the editing this episode was weird. I don't know if it was the water reflected on unnecessary scenes, or just the awkward camera angles but it didn't have the mastery of the early seasons.

I still can't get over that ending. I just. Mary I know I didn't particularly like you before but I didn't want you to die. Cheese and crackers. I gave the episode a 1/10 until I get my bearings back and am able to judge it more logically. Or at least without getting into shock. Again

Hi! I'm J and I've been a fan of Sherlock since it aired. I've distanced myself from the fandom this last couple of years but after today's episode I need moral support. Please, someone give me shock blankets. (On a sidenote: WHAT THE HELL MOFFISS??????)
