  1. Again, not one of mine, this is another meta by wellingtongoose on livejournal. In this meta wellingtongoose has discussed Sherlock's possible autism/asperger's with 3 psychiatrists. The overwhelming conclusion is that Sherlock (as shown on screen in BBC Sherlock) is NOT someone with an ASD, which I know might not sit well with some people. However, the evidence is well thought out and presented and some good points are made. Wellingtongoose is not the first person to refute Sherlock's supposed Asperger's diagnosis. Seeing as this is a tv series, and fantasy, we can choose to believe what we want. I personally think that Sherlock does display some traits of Asperger's, but that doesn't mean he has enough to give him a diagnosis. There are any number of people who, due to other factors (such as intelligence, upbringing and general personality), are just downright eccentric. Diagnosing Sherlock: Why he doesn't have Asperger's Read at your own risk.

  5. Hello, I am an English Student who lives in Spain and is working with the topic of Sherlock Holmes. Please can you answer a very short test related to my topic, thank you. I need to do a comparison between the knowledge of Spanish people about Sherlock and your knowledge. Thanks to you all. http://goo.gl/forms/Pnlv4xF9pL Moderator Comment: Danivi73 requests that you take this test only if you are a native speaker of English. This will make it possible to compare the answers of native English-speakers against those of native Spaniards. Thank you. I should probably also point out that the quiz questions pertain to Sherlock Holmes in general, rather than to the BBC program Sherlock.
  6. Yep, it's own channel right here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkp_CAX1eIc5k5SavzbhN5w
  7. Well everybody knows about the childish feud or rivalry that exists between Sherlock and Mycroft. I am particularly fascinated by it. Although they fight which each other, still they care for each other very much as shown in the episodes. Particularly I find Mycroft character really interesting as there is no clarity about him, his job or anything about what started rivalry between him and his brother. I sure hope S3 throws some light on Mycroft's character and reveals more information about him. I Googled Mycroft and read the Wikipedia article pertaining to the character, alas I could not find much of help there too except finding out that he has greater deduction powers than his brothers but he is lazy to use thim and therefore puts his brother to do all the investigative work. I would sure like to discuss his character as well as Sherlock vs Mycroft with you guys! Looking forward to hearing from you sherlocked people.
  8. I'm just going through Doctor Who with Christopher Eccleston, and the double episodes of The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances are written by Moffat. In The Doctor Dances are the following two lines that the Doctor says: "Funny little human brains. How do you get around in those things?" "I am on fire!" Hmmm... paraphrased/repeated later in Sherlock ASIP and TGG.
  9. I've just been looking at Sherlockology's very lovely "wardrobe" of Sherlock and I'm wondering, have you bought something for yourself or a loved one because Sherlock has one? if perhaps you haven't and money was no object (because Sherlock seems to have very expensive tastes), other than the Coat, what else would you buy? Me I like the watch.
  10. For all of us in the US with cable/satellite, the BBC has announced that Sherlock is coming to BBC America November 8 at 8/7C followed by the season finale of Dr. Who. Info can be found at: http://www.bbcamerica.com/sherlock/

  12. Greetings fellow sherlockians I am currently conducting a research on the phenomena of Sherlock for my school. It would be tremendously helpful if you could give me your honest opinions on these 3 questions Q) Do you personally think that Sherlock is a new social phenomenon in this generation? (comparing its popularity in the past) Q) Do the people around you support the fact that you are a fan of Sherlock? Please explain why they are supporting/against this matter. Q) Which country are you from and where are you currently living in? (If you are living in your own country, One answer will do) All answers are accepted and deeply appreciated Thank you so much in advance, You guys are truly awesome
  13. Okay, I'm starting this thread to continue on with some fun musings regarding what would happen IF Sherlock and John had to rear Baby Watson by themselves. Madness would ensue! Mrs. Hudson would take on a grandmotherly role and end up babysitting A LOT. Sherlock being completely inept and changing diapers while wearing full safety gear - even picking up the soil diapers with kitchen tongs to transfer them to the garbage Sherlock visiting Lestrade over a murder and Sherlock having a bit of baby vomit on his shoulder that he forgot to clean off. John pacing all night with a crying baby and Sherlock yelling "shut up!" and the baby shutting up. Sherlock trying to calm the crying baby in all sorts of unusual ways that no normal parent would ever consider. John coming back from an errand to find Sherlock asleep on the sofa with the baby on his chest Sherlock sitting at his computer looking at the same types of crime scene pictures he showed Archie but with Baby Watson in his lap Sherlock reading bedtime stories to baby Watson that are murder mysteries Baby Watson's first word is "murder" Okay.... keep going

  16. Hi and welcome! I'm Michael, I'm new here and i want to ask you some questions. It goes like that (read carefuly): My girl friend is a hudge fan of Sherlock Holmes and her birthday is in month time. I also watch him with her so i know "something". I pretty like him, but she?! She is just crazy about him and all stuff combined. It is not bad i like her craze about it and i know she would be in euphory if she would get something what is related to him. So I am asking you: Women and men what would be the thing you wanted to get for your birthday? I can also make it by myself but I am not good at drawing or sculpting. I will love every answer but really appreciate some links or websites. It would be great if it would be up to 25 Pounds. Thank you very much!

  18. I was thinking. Sherlock's tastes in wardrobe & personal grooming is pretty impeccable. I wondered if he is the metro sexual type? Would he get mani-pedis? What do you all say?
  19. Sherlockology just posted this - from TSOT - guessing John's middle name.
  20. Anyone can vote here... the TV Choice Awards. Please note that SHERLOCK and Benedict Cumberbatch are nominated in their respective categories. But vote as you see fit. http://www.tvchoicemagazine.co.uk/awards/2014

  23. We would like to announce the creation of International Sherlock Holmes Day! A holiday by Sherlock fans, for Sherlock fans. International Sherlock Holmes Day (ISHD) falls on the 22nd of May, as this happens to be the birthday of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Celebrate by reading Sherlock Holmes books, watching Sherlock on TV, watching a Sherlock Holmes movie, dressing up in a costume, solving a mystery, etc.
  24. Ok there is some confusion about John being legally? Able to carry a hand gun. As well as Major Sholto. The US is under scrutiny per our Losey Goosey gun laws. I thought it was near impossible for a citizen to legally own a gun in England. Could someone clarify?
  25. So far, Sherlock has garnered 4 Emmys - Last night SHERLOCK won 4 Creative Arts Emmys for Cinematography, Picture Editing, Score, and Sound Editing!
