  1. I seem to be placing up a lot that Mark is up to lately, so thought perhaps rather than a new topic each time perhaps he should get his own "news" topic. I couldn't see that one had been done before. Anyway just thought I would pass on the following link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nmsw7 Actor and writer Mark Gatiss embarks on a chilling voyage through European horror cinema. From the silent nightmares of German Expressionism in the wake of World War I to lesbian vampires in 1970s Belgium, from the black-gloved killers of Italy's bloody Giallo thrillers to the ghosts of the Spanish Civil War, Mark reveals how Europe's turbulent 20th century forged its ground-breaking horror tradition. On a journey that spans the continent from Ostend to Slovakia, Mark explores classic filming locations and talks to the genre's leading talents, including directors Dario Argento and Guillermo del Toro.
  2. I re-watched The Curse of the Were-Rabbit tonight (lovely, wonderful, just delightful), and what a surprise to see Mark Gatiss' name appear in the closing titles, he did the voice for Miss Blight, so of course I re-watched it again, can I work out which character is Miss Blight, No I can't, but I think it is this character in her lovely yellow ensemble. Does anyone know if that is Miss Blight?
  3. Radio Times is doing their TV champion. The Drama category started today. From Sherlock (not necessarily representing it) are Benedict, Mark, Amanda, Martin, and Louise (all winning so far). Voting for this round is open for about 48 hours total. If you want to vote go here. They have several TV categories for voting with the winners in each category going against each other for the ultimate champion. In Drama David Tennant and Aidan Turner have the most votes by far 20k+ and 19k+ respectively for this first round. Whoever wins in Drama will go up against the winners of Factual, Soap Opera, Comedy, Reality, etc. The pictures are about the size of an actual finger nail so to help you find our cast by pairings (counting down the left side then the right): Benedict #7, Mark #8, Amanda #9, Martin #11, and Louise #27
  4. http://bakerstreetbabes.tumblr.com/post/86740844910/gillette-to-brett-iv-registration-announcement Anyone going to get a chance to go to this? I believe it is held in Indiana in the USA. Mark Gatiss has been announced as a guest and I would love the opportunity to hear him talk about Sherlock Holmes. 'Wessex Press is pleased to announce another in its series of blockbuster Sherlockian conferences, FROM GILLETTE TO BRETT IV: BASIL, BENEDICT, AND BEYOND. Devoted to Sherlock Holmes on stage, screen, television, and radio.' Registrations open on Monday 26th May,
  5. I found this on BBC America's site earlier today. Round 1 voting happens until Friday at 11am EST. I found some of the match ups hard to decide who to pick because of the talent pool. We are lucky so far in that none of our beloved Sherlock cast are against each other yet. To vote go to http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/fan-favorites/men-2014/round-1/
  6. Get your questions in early. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-10-23/mark-gatiss-is-going-to-put-your-questions-to-peter-capaldi-andrew-scott-and-amanda-abbington
  7. http://www.llgs.org.uk/mark-and-friends.html I so envy you London (and UK based) folk, you can go see this! 16th November join Mark Gatiss and friends with an afternoon of conversation with questions from the audience all to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard. Peter Capaldi!!!!!!!!!!
  8. In an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live Steven Moffat has confirmed that writing has begun on series 3 of Sherlock. [Thanks to Sherlockology]
