I hope it's not too confusing for everybody, but the old software had reached its end of life, and was no longer receiving security updates. So if you have any difficulties then fire away, and we will attempt to answer them.

Hello, I'm a German girl that really loves Sherlock. I have to do an essay on a topic I like and so I chose comparing the work of Doyle with the tv show "Sherlock". Now I need a heading for the whole thing, which motivates the reader to read it. It can be a question or a thesis or whatever it just has to sound interesting to the reader!

Hey guys =) I am really in doubt each book to choose. I really enjoyed reading Holmes, but I would like to see what else is there in the (classic) mistery fiction. I am in between The Woman in White and Crime and Punishiment. Have someone here read any of those to help me choose my next book =]? Thanks a lot!

[HELP* Should I start by A Study in Scarlet?
Victor Zuanazzi posted a topic in Miscellaneous Musings
Hello guys! A Study in Scarlet is remarcable for two reasons: It is the very first Sherlock Holmes novel and sets the ground to all the following stories. And second, the plot is weird! I have started a blog to suggest classic novels to readers enthusiastics (please feel free to join :D ), and I would like to recommend A Study in Scarlet by the great Doyle. However I am afraid that people may not like the plot, therefore, not really feel motivated to read the rest of the Canon (what would be sad, because the Canon is awesome!). On another hand, all the other Sherlock Holmes' books are not the first one! And that is against the common sense to start by the middle. See the antagony? Please, help me with your insights about how to approach this problem! Thanks in advance- 5 replies

From the tags, I'm sure you clever lot can figure out the basics of my question, though I'll spell it out just in case. I need your help. I know its early, but I am so gosh-darn excited and would like some pointers. For Halloween, my friend and I are going as John and Sherlock, respectively. I was wondering if any of you guys know any YouTube videos or have any pointers on how to use makeup to make my cheekbones a bit more... Benedict-y? Thanks!

I loaded this site and at the top there was random gibberish and then the words, "Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/banshee/public_html/sherlock/forum/uploads/profile/photo-1592.jpg:40) in/home/banshee/public_html/sherlock/forum/admin/sources/classes/output/formats/html/htmlOutput.php on line141" repeated a few times. I had to scroll quite a ways to get to the actual content. I cannot upload the screenshots I have of this because any size file is now considered "too big". I cannot access individual topics, only threads. My notifications aren't loading. The Attach Files button is now what looks like an advert for an Asian thing. Is this happening to anyone else? Or is my computer exploding?

At the bottom the screen there's sometimes this thing that says "Google" or "Bing" next to where the names of the people logged in are. What is this? What does it mean? If the names of people who are logged in go there, than why is there "Google" and "Bing" there? (I'm probably being dense, but I’m curious)
