  1. The radio sitcom about a rather small airline (an air 'dot' as they only have 1 plane) is being repeated on Radio 4 from the beginning. I don't know if iplayer for radio can be accessed outside of the UK, but if you haven't heard Cabin Pressure, it's definitely worth it. Cabin Pressure and for a silly little taster...
  2. Something which I hope will interest members. An interview with Nigel Bruce's daughter before her death, and extracts from his unpublished memoirs about his time with Basil Rathbone making the Sherlock Holmes movies and radio series. Sorry it is hard to read, do click on each page to enlarge. If any member on here has a contact within the Bruce family it would be interesting to know what became of the manuscript of this memoir. If at all possible it should be published. The only copy of Nigel Bruce's Unpublished Autobiography: Games, Gossip and Greasepaint, was with his daughter Mrs Pauline Page who lived near Oxford. She is now deceased. Nick Utechin interviewed Mrs Page who allowed him to publish extracts from the work in the Sherlock Holmes Journal, of which he is editor. The interview and extracts appeared in the Winter issue of 1998: Volume 19 Number 1. Mr Utechin kindly agreed to allow me to make the extracts more widely available. So you will find both the interview and extracts from the memoir here. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/118245811686959745462/albums/5274797161382568433
  3. I have managed to get the full collection of Holmes BBC audio dramas that had been adapted by Bert Coules, it includes all the original stories as well as some he has written from references in original stories as a pastiche. It has Clive Merrison and Holmes and Michael Williams and later Andrew Sach as Watson. I find it very well acted and Coules adaptions are very good. so you can get a taste of what they are like, I do recommend them to anyone with a love of Holmes.
  4. Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, so just a reminder that the final episode of Cabin Pressure is apparently now available. I admit I don't quite understand how it works (Can you only listen at the listed times? And is that my time? Or BBC time?) but anyway, here's the link ... maybe some of you who are more familiar with BBC Radio can explain how this works? Or you can do what I did for the other episodes, and wait for some kind soul to post it on, ahem, YouTube.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04vf25d
  5. BBC Radio 4 are running 5 weeks of Sherlock on the radio http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01j9gzs
  6. Benedict Cumberbatch to play angel in star-studded Neil Gaiman fantasy Neverwhere. Full story on the Radio Times Website.
