New here, hi :) 15 minutes to go, how very exciting.

I've sacked off a family gathering to watch it because even though they said I could watch it there, I just know they'll chat the whole way through. Gotta have priorities right?

It says here that my post will need to be approved before it appears so there probably isn't 15 minutes to go at all.

Hello Riddle and welcome to the forum!

Only nine more posts to go, then the moderation barrier's gone :). And given the exciting time you've chosen to join us, that should be soon enough ;).

WHAT!!!???!!! On earth just happened?!!! I'm shaking and laughing. Unbelievable!!!! Will write more later, but I need a second viewing as I missed the first half hour

I can hardly believe the hour that I DID see! :P

You have to see this to believe it!

And, oh, Sherlock? I love you more than ever!!!

I was going to wait until it aired to watch it, because I wanted to go in completely spoiled, but I broke down and watched it anyway.

I think I should wait until I see it a few more times to vote, because I am feeling pretty underwhelmed by some things and this usually improves with a few more views.

But can I just say how much I HATE how easily John forgave Mary? I loved her, absolutely loved her, and now I hope she dies in childbirth in between this season and the next. John's forgiveness of her was so easy and unbelievable. Does he never hold anyone accountable for their actions?

Honestly, that one thing is threatening to ruin for me what is probably, otherwise, a very good episode.

And the whole time I had expected it would be John to shoot Magnussen. He is, after all, a soldier, and he kept asking "To be clear, this information exists only in your mind?" But then, I guess if he had shot him he would have gone away to prison forever, whereas it's not like Britain can condemn Sherlock Holmes forever, not when they need him so desperately.

And not that I don't love to see Andrew Scott again, but really, does anyone on this show ever die? This is what happens when Moffat is running things. They might as well rename this show The Highlander.

Did anyone catch Sherlock's full name? I couldn't make it out over the background noise and BC's rumbly baritone.

I think it's because he's a brilliant villain - way more entertaining that Magnusson. I was pleased just to see him when Sherlock was dying...

Okay, only watched once (obviously!) but I have to say:

1) The scene where Molly hit Sherlock was hilarious. I bet she preferred kissing him though. Just a hunch.

2) Sherlock and Janine... is it weird that I kind of like them together? I don't know. I just do

3) The scene where Molly and Anderson 'helped' Sherlock (well, he helped himself) not to die was brilliant. And when he started fighting to live for John... that's when I first started crying!

4) The licking and the flicking. Odd. I didn't like him. But the vaults being in his mind palace was clever.

5) Christmas at the Holmes house. Brilliant. Especially when Mycroft told his mum she'd got potatoes on his laptop and when they both tried to pretend they weren't smoking

6) Sherlock's face when Magnusson was flicking John... the hurt on his face, seeing his friend like that... more crying from me

7) Sherlock shooting Magnusson and risking everything to set John and Mary free. *sob*

8) John and Sherlock's goodbye. Lots more tears. Lots.

9) Mary. Mary. Mary. I don't know what to say about her. I had suspicions I wanted to bury - her knowing about skip ciphers, Sherlock reading that she was a liar, the message from 'Cam' at the wedding... but I really can't sort out my feelings for her. It's going to take some time. And I REALLY want to know more about what she did... And I was convinced she was going to die tonight. Interesting. Are we actually going to have a baby at 221B??

10) MORIARTY. OMG.

I need to go and flail and think and cry and wail about there being no more new Sherlock for ages for a bit.

Oh and I forgot to say...

I knew Redbeard was a dog. Well, animal. Probably dog. Child Sherlock was so sweet.

Who is/was "the other one"????

Not enough Lestrade in this ep AT ALL.

Just picking my jaw up from the floor.

OMG! Moriarty! I'd hoped he'd be back but a bullet to the head seemed a tad too final to entertain any hopes of that.

The other brother, I thought that there is an older brother in the books of conan. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't recollect anyone bar mycroft. Mycroft himself appears in only one story

Last thing first :) William Sherlock Scott Holmes, as I heard it. Love the name :) It's beautiful.

I'm going to rewatch it right away (I missed the first half hour!), before I can make up my mind about many things. However, on first impression I share some of your concerns, Karie. Does John ever hold people accountable? And Sherlock forgave her pretty easily, too. I guess what we're supposed to learn from this is not to hold on to the past? I can agree on that, but in reality forgiveness can actually be a process. (Sarcasm, in case that wasn't clear.)

I am, however, (after my first viewing; might revise my statement later) very pleased with Sherlock shooting Magnussen. It appeals to my desire to see Sherlock a hero, I suppose. A hero for his friends, at least. He again proves how much John means to him.

The ending? I was shocked so much that I cheered madly, simply because of the surprise - but I'm not actually sure how clever I think it is... Awakened from the dead? We've been there, haven't we...
