Cats looooove sunshine.  Even in really hot weather, our cats will lounge in the afternoon sunshine on our enclosed porch.

Or yes, it could be that!

I believe the official name (in human yoga, anyhow) is the corpse pose.  In that one, though, the front paws are at one's sides -- so maybe you're right, it's a cat-specific pose.
