Regarding the "corgi lying about being a wolf," wasn't there a series of posts on this thread a while back about what happens when you cross a corgi with just about any other breed?

Yup, just a year ago, here!  The corgi/greyhound mix seems to have run off somewhere, though, so here is an assortment of them.

Added:  Turns out the vallhund isn't a corgi mix, even though it looks like one -- according to the American Kennel Club, it's actually an ancient breed.

But I'm sure he looks much cuter than a literal interpretation of your description might imply!

We had two litter mates, one tabby (I.e. striped) and the other all black (who was sometimes hard to locate till she opened her eyes).  But even though the two of them spent a lot of time together, I don't recall Persea ever playing Camilla's shadow!

Our cats rarely if ever look at themselves in mirrors, even though they have easy access to the bathroom mirrors.  But we've seen Dora, several times, apparently looking at her reflection in the shiny metal base of a wall lamp.  No idea why.

What it says about catnip repelling mosquitos is actually true -- not just planting it in your garden, though, you need to smear it all over yourself.  But last I heard, it was said to work at least as well as the chemical repellents, with no known side effects (other than being mobbed by every cat in the neighborhood).
