Sherlock Episode Quiz

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I came across this quite good episode quiz: http://www.radiotimes.com/topic/sherlock%20quiz/12163

I managed the following results (not to brag or anything... I did good, but I'm pretty sure some of you can do better) :

ASiP: 10/10

TBB: 12/15

TGG: 9/10

ASiB: 13/15

HoB: 8/10

TRF: 12/15

"So what do you think... Can you beat me? Are you clever enough... to -" Okay, I won't finish that sentence.

Have fun!

Oh, goody -- a challenge!

ASiP:  7 + 3/2 of 10 (didn't get the exact answer on 3 questions)

TBB:  15 of 15

TGG:  10 of 10

ASiB:  13 of 15

THoB:  7 + 2/2 of 10

TRF:   12 + 3/4 of 15

A minor quibble:  Some of the questions are wrong.  Seriously.  (But thank God they don't yet have quizzes for Series 3!)

Wow, you did great! I counted in all my closely correct answers, because some questions are very open - you can't know exactly how they have formed the answer.

One that really stood out with me was: What was the only thing in the fridge in Van Coon's flat? I didn't even remember that we got a look into the fridge!

And yes, I noticed a few wrong questions as well.

Yup, that was all he had in his fridge -- though I put it down as

wine

-- not an expert, obviously!

I counted my "close enough" answers as well, but there were some that I clearly missed part of.  I'm amazed by your "Study" score!

Study 8/10

Banker 12/15

Game 9/10

Scandal 11/15

Hound 8/10

Fall 10/15

I definitely could have done better especially since I saw "The Fall" only two days ago! But at least I have another excuse for watching it again and again and... again :D

That's why the quiz is so good... when you've watched all the episodes so many times that you think you can take on a quiz pretty easily... and then it's still harder than you thought. That's how I felt, anyway.

There were a few questions that I was unable to answer at all, but I think the hardest was something like

What time did Moriarty start his "daylight robbery"?

I suppose the captions (e.g., "Bank of England") included the time -- but I didn't retain that information.  Alternatively, if they expected us to be scouring the background for a clock, they must think we're really obsessive!

ASiP - 10/10 (last one mostly a lucky guess, tho)

TBB - 6/15

TGG - 5/10

SiB - 9/15

THoB - 3/10 :-(

TRF - okay, did so bad on that one not even going to admit it :-)

Yay! I now have the perfect excuse to watch them all again! Thanks!

I got that one wrong.

I remembered there were captions, but wasn't sure about the time.

Another problem I had was remembering names of actors (Henry Knight and Kitty Riley). I never bothered to find out who played Kitty, anyway.

I bombed out on those two as well.  Probably because

I've never seen either of them in anything else, unless you count the hilarious candy commercials that Katherine Parkinson did with Amanda Abbington (which were on YouTube last time I looked -- just search on the two names).  Those ads presumably explain why one reporter said Abbington was returning to Sherlock for Series 3, having previously played a journalist in Series 2.

Just as a fun bit of trivia:

I spotted Russell Tovey (who played Henry Knight) in an episode of Miss Marple, acting with, ta da, Benedict Cumberbatch. I couldn't remember his name, tho. Probably cuz I was too busy paying attention to someone else. :-)

In order to save log-out / log-in time, Alex asked me to post the following:

Here are my scores on this quiz:

Study:  8 1/2 of 10

Banker:  13 1/2 of 15

Game:  10 of 10

Scandal:  12 of 15

Hounds:  7 2/2 of 10

Reichenbach:  11 + 2/3 + 3/4 of 15

I should mention that both Alex and I adjusted our scores to reflect what they would have been if the questions had been posed properly.  Also, we're not at all certain that there is a correct answer to the very last question.

Hehe - I have a tendency to take things literally (which is sometimes not such a good thing, but here it helped). I thought of

the rooftop scene, and Moriarty saying: "You and me, Sherlock, and our problem; the final problem: Staying alive!" Though, of course you can argue that the final problem could be making Sherlock commit suicide, or tearing down the last of Sherlock's reputation...

Right -- I answered it as you did and Alex gave your alternative answer.  I think both answers are equally defensible, since

Moriarty said at 221B that he had already told Sherlock what their "final problem" was -- and I don't recall that he had said that -- unless you count his ringtone at the pool.  Which may have been what he meant, come to think of it.
