Well, I was half-watching The X-Files: I Want to Believe without paying much attention. Until I heard the name: Isaac Whitney. And I knew instantly who Isaac Whitney was in Sherlock. :picard:

You realize that Sherlock would never be caught dead (or alive) in any of All's outfits, but know that there are FanFic writers who would put Sherlock in those very same outfits for something AU that they are writing.

Every time you see:

"You've been kidnapped. You can call on the characters from one television show to make a rescue attempt. Which show do you pick?" or it's equivalent on social media and your immediate response is Sherlock.

He is not from television series, but if it's okay, I'd pick Khan. :p

Anyone who has the audacity to kidnap me should be destroyed. But great choice, Sherlock would do more than deducing, hopefully the kidnapper stays on upper floor.

The thing is, it's not just 1 character.  It's all of them from the show.  So in your case, you could pick Star Trek Into Darkness even though it is not a show.  You'd have Khan and Spock while I'd have Sherlock, Mycroft, John & Lestrade.  The kidnappers would probably regret the day they were born after Sherlock & Mycroft got done & john would probably have the same look on his face as he did when the CIA agent was tied to the chair in ASIB right before he brought Mrs. Hudson downstairs to her flat.

I'd be torn between Sherlock and the Scoobies. (As in, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her gang. ) I guess it would depend on who kidnapped me.

I can't help to spoil the fun by thinking those characters would just slam their phone and say "Why should I care for this anonymous caller and risk my life for the safety of a stranger who actually given a chance to call for help by their kidnapper? It's scam! BLAM"

XD

Oh. I think Jack Bauer would make a good rescue also, and body counts.

But Sherlock makes the most sense! I'd say we would have very good chances of being freed quickly.

When you buy two greeting cards that somehow remind you of Sherlock but then have no one to send them to because no one in your private circle would get it.... that's okay.  I'll just keep them.

One card says...You annoy me least of everyone I know (outside of card)...This is a bigger compliment than you might think (inside of card)

2nd card has pics of lab equipment incl. microscope on outside.  It says: Want to hear something really fun about science? (outside of card)...You would.  Nerd. (inside of card).

My ears perked up like a dog hearing ice cream cart music when some character was called van buren in a TV Show.

I don't think I respond to my real name that well. Idiot....

When your favorite Sims characters are named Joan and Shirley. And they have a lab table with bubbling chemicals in their kitchen. And they are both brave. And you buy an expansion pack just so that Shirley can become a private eye...

You named a Sim Sherlock Holmes and she is a scientist with a nifty raygun. Next door, Mycroft live with Anthea, their twins and another on the way. Now to hunt items to create a Greg Lestrade...

Each time you see a cake – which is quite often, with almost 40 people bringing cakes into the office at their birthdays (and sometimes just so) – you think of the funny Mycake gifs from the net.

40!?! Good god! :blanket: :blanket:

I used to work in office that celebrates birthdays. It's less than 15 people and it's killing me.

Now much bigger workplace, but I purposely isolate myself so well that the only birthday celebrated (no way to escape) is mine, and it's killing me the same if not more.

40!!

Yeah, one more reason why I hate birthdays. Sadly someone made a list and it's in the Outlook group calendar, so there is no escape.

The number varies dependent on how many trainees and apprentices are there, but it's somewhere between 32 and 40. Thanks God we are only 6 in our room.

One of several reasons why I'm self-employed.....

My appreciation to you guys (throw strawberry and chocolate fondue fountain).

Apparently no one in this office understand that and I am considered weird for hating birthday celebrations, despite how I begged, explained and threatened them not to do anything for mine. Luckily, since last year our office with only couple of people is quite isolated from the rest.

Self-employed...how nice. I found out that I need to earn enough money first before I could be self-employed, because of mortgage blah and blah..

Okay, back to topic.. I am out of words, so..

I'm just watching (for the first time) the series LIE TO ME with Tim Roth, and I really like it.  He's like a Sherlock of interpreting micro body language.  It's a fascinating series about body language although quite mundane in other regards.  It's on Netflix.
