Shelock's Bolt Holes

Okay, here are the bolt holes in order of mention from HLV:

1.  Parliament Hill - this is part of the greater Hamstead Heath park

2.  Camden Locks - just N.E. of Regent's Park

3.  Dagmar Court - I could only find an apartment building with that name about 5-6 miles N.E. of Regent's Park, so if anyone knows anything different, please let me know.

4.  Blind Greenhouse at Kew Gardens.  Lots of greenhouses there but can't find one specifically called "Blind" - so please let me know if I've missed something.

5.  Leaning tomb at Hamstead Cemetery... well, there are probably lots of leaning tombs there as it's an old cemetery.

6.  Molly's bedroom.

7.  Behind Big Ben's clock face - yes, you can get back there but dang, it would be freakishly noisy.

8.  Leinster Gardens - yes, it is a definite place just as portrayed in HLV with the facades.

3.  Dagmar Court -- according to my Handy London Map & Guide (which has never lead me astray), there is no street by that name within Central London.  But in addition to the apartment building up north, there's also a Dagmar Court condominium on the Isle of Dogs (between London and Greenwich).

4.  Blind Greenhouse -- I would assume the word "blind" in this case refers to a greenhouse where the glass is covered with curtains to reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the plants -- which would also make the interior fairly private (unlike most greenhouses).

I actually have no idea, but it has also occurred to me when they say "blind greenhouse" that it could be a conservatory built somehow into a hillside or otherwise with an entrance but no separate exit, like in the sense of "blind alleyway."  That would make it easy to defend because there's only one ingress/egress to guard.

I don't offhand recall seeing any mention of them -- but I haven't read all the stories yet.

He definitely has boltholes (very elaborate ones) in Laurie R. King's Mary Russell novels.  So they may have arisen in the adaptations -- which Moftiss also consider to be canon, and would thus feel free to borrow from.
