Legend of Aang didn't grab me at all, but I recently saw a few episodes of Legend of Korra and yeah, based on those I would certainly recommend it, if you like animation and kids series least a little bit.

Yes, Legend of Korra is bettere than Legend of Aang, it's more a cartoon for adults than for children, there are many things to reflect on and difficult themes.

It drives me nuts a bit. Can't help but wishing there are more people like Sherlock.

Has anyone else seen this new show Lucifer? Another Sherlock clone, in some ways, but with a twist ... the main character is the Devil. Literally. But he's having good impulses because he likes this woman ..... who's a cop. So he helps solve crimes ....

 

Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? But it came on after the X-Files so I watched it, and I actually rather enjoyed it. Not sure how long they can sustain the idea, but we'll see..... And the guy that plays the devil nails it, a real charmer, but in a bad way.....

 

Anyway, it's better than the even more obvious Sherlock clone, Scorpion. I gave up on that after a couple episodes.

Why are more of you people not watching The Walking Dead?  It's truly a great show.

Because the few times I've tried to watch it, the destruction of the zombies is just too ... cold-hearted, I guess. No, that's not quite right, I got a kick out of watching Buffy kill vampires ....

 

Ah. I think I got it. No humor about it, that's what turns me away, I think. I can only take so much unrelenting grimness in my entertainment.....

Why are more of you people not watching The Walking Dead?  It's truly a great show.

I have to admit, I needed a while with The Walking Dead. It's nothing you can watch all the time, or inbetween something. And you shouldn't switch into the show like anywhere in the seasons, like you can maybe watch Sherlock season 3 first and then the others or so, or just an episode, to get hooked on it.

I remember my first 'encounter' with TWD was like 'WTF?', because one night I switched into an episode somewhere in the middle of season 4, and I thought: 'Nah, I don't think I like this, I'm not the zombie fan, and it's just about smashing zombie heads in, looks pretty lame to me...', I just wondered about it as it's so big and everyone seems to like it, so I was curious where the fascination is. That time I didn't get the point.

BUT then I really took the time, as one of our channels here started the whole thing from season 1 again to get the 5th one added in the end as the new season around Halloween last year. And I have to say, I got addicted after the first season was through...I watched every night all the episodes from season 1 until the end of season 5. In my opinion it's basically a show you just can't get hooked on by only one episode somewhere in the middle, you have to watch it from the beginning to understand and possibly like it. Can be quite exhausting as well, so I understand if people dislike it, but now I also get the reasons why people like it so much.

Daredevil and Jessica Jones are really great shows from Marvel and Netflix.

They're bringing a few shows like those two and then combined the heroes into one show: The Defenders.

 

(So basically what Marvel did with the Avangers. They got their own movies (Iron Man, Captain America etc.) but they also have the all together version, the Avangers.)

 

And one thing that is really great about Daredevil and Jessica Jones is that they are like really realistic, even though they have 'superpowers'. They are so human and everything.... dude..... Just watch it! ;)

And btw, David Tennant (most known for his role as the 10th Doctor in Doctor Who) plays in Jessica Jones the villain. He's really great as that totally badass character!!

 

 

Narcos is also from Netflix, it's telling the true story of Pablo Escobar, one of the richest, most powerful druglords ever (I guess)..

And it's just awesome! A lot of Spanish and subtitles though but great performances.

 

Just watch that too.

 

What also cool is, is that there is a lot of original footage shown.

Personally, I've only watched a bit (David Tennant is so good in this he seriously creeps me out) but I've heard nothing but good reviews from folks who watched it.

That explains it. If I can't get a show the old-fashioned way ... broadcast TV ... I'm not likely to know a dern thing about it. I'm not against those other things, I just don't have them, for reasons.

The Walking Dead took me some time to warm up to it.  I was really skeptical going into it, because I don't tend to like overly violent/gruesome things.  I only started watching it and Hannibal b/c so many X-Files fans on Tumblr talked them both up, and I assumed since we shared a like of X-Files maybe I'd like Hannibal and The Walking Dead too?  Of the two, I like The Walking Dead far better, though.  But I was hooked by the time I hit Season 2.  I think you get acclimated to seeing the zombies (I guess kinda like the characters get used to them!) and really to me at this point it's about the characters and their development/relationships than it is a show about zombies.  I'm so unphased by the zombies at this point.  lol   It has it's moments of levity here and there too.

For everybody who likes comedy & zombies (or just some funny weird stuff, anyway - the zombies are not to compare with TWD, makeupwise...they look just silly :lol: ) I recommend 'Shaun of the dead'  (no series, it's a film, but as currently we talk a bit about zombies I thought I'll throw it in...) - I heard of it before, but came to watch it today for the first time - actually Martin Freeman does a very mini part in it, like just being the boyfriend of some chick from the neighbourhood Shaun and his people bump into while on the run. (very short appearance!)

I didn't know it, I swear - I just got the film because it sounded funny and I like Simon Pegg from Star Trek and Mission Impossible. Then I was like ??? Martin Freeman in that, too? Haha...with very very short hair. Running from Zombies :D

I saw that one couple weeks ago, it's an awesome movie.
