I HAVEN'T HAD ANY SMILEY PROBLEMS.

Oops, ignore that's in capitals, I've had too stressful a day to go back and retype it, I'm still all manic.

I’m sitting in my car waiting for johnspec and laughing at this. If I was on my computer, I would pick one of the other reactions.

Don't you get the other options on your phone?  I do.  I'm using Chrome on an Android phone.  Are you using Tapatalk?

Me? Shouting? 😇

I'm fairly chilled at the moment. It won't last.

Yes, I’m on Tapatalk when on my phone.

Camper, could you tell me what are the benefits of using Tapatalk?  (I don't use it, so all I ever hear about is the problems people have with it.)

When I first joined the forum almost 4 years ago, it’s what I went with for phone use of the site. I forget if I tried the site on mobile and didn’t care for it or not. I find the unread notifications easy to go back to on Tapatalk whether it’s new unread content or quote/like notifications. And it keeps me logged in for longer than most sites I’m logged into on safari (won’t use Chrome on my iPhone as the various google apps tend to be battery hogs).

Thanks.  I've generally had good luck with Chrome, but you may well be right about the battery usage.  I have no other experience to compare it to.

My sister has various google apps and has told me. And now that I’m thinking about it, there is a chance it was data over battery and either way a bit not good. I do have google hangouts but that is only used for a business coaching call (usually on WiFi) twice a month.

Okay, until we can find a more generic term, then, I hereby dub us "fiends" - as in, Freeman Is Extraordinary, No Doubt, in Sherlock .

Following up on that discussion from five years ago:

I was just watching an interview with MF, in which he says he's heard some of his fans call themselves Freemaniacs (pronounced like "free maniacs").  He seems fine with it, so who am I to argue?

The interview video is here.  Kind of a light-hearted retrospective of some of his roles over the years.

  • 1 month later...

According to this source, Ghost Stories will be available on DVD and Blu-ray next month.  It's also available (now) for streaming or download on Amazon.com.  The Amazon reviews describe it as cerebral and very scary, rather than violent.

Probably for me too.  If Freeman weren't in it, I wouldn't even consider watching it.  Also, he's apparently in only one of the three stories.  I won't rule it completely out, though -- it sounds like the kind of role that I really enjoy seeing him in.

I'm a real wimp, though -- so my results could be highly misleading.  It's been ages since I watched anything really scary.  But I really am tempted.

Speaking of scary (though apparently far less scary) movies, gotta find a way to see Cargo.

Cargo wasn’t super scary. I watched it once and was good to not ever see it again. As for ghost stories, definitely won’t be watching that. I’m not into scary even though I do like a good suspense work (I find most suspense tends to err too much on the side of thriller for movies though so don’t watch them).

Several reviewers were careful to say that Ghost Stories is *not* gory -- just very, very scary in a cerebral sort of way.

Ha, I’m the opposite, not too bothered by gory, but give me something creepy that’ll come back to me in the middle of the night and I’m done for. I never finished watching The Woman in Black because it creeped me out too much!

I figure if I actually decide to watch Ghost Stories, it'll have to be early afternoon on a sunny day, when I can get out for a long walk afterwards.  (Assuming that the movie doesn't have any creepy things happening when somebody's taking nice walk on a sunny afternoon.)
