Well done!!

I know you will see it.

I share a secret ... I guessed that because I've been looking for a picture of miniatures to post here, but couldn't find one that was as convincing! :D Great minds think alike .....

Okay.. another one.

These guys have same job.

What is it..?

I'm guessing either house painters or people who hold birds on their fingers... :D

Is the white powder flour? Could they be a baker?

Not baker. But there is connection with powdery residue.

The hand on the left looks quite dirty.

Yap. Don't eat their breads :)

I've got it! It is ... a hand! *ba dum tsss*

Actually.., technically... no XD XD XD

I was jealous thinking that Sherlock was there giving you a peck on the cheek while John taking a sip of coffee when you did the deduction. XD

Not house painters.

But yes, they are holding something.

That's the reason the pictures are cropped oddly.

Another clue: It's not very common occupation and it needs certain skills.

Processing cocaine? :D

Are they making something? The position of their hands makes me think of using a spinning wheel, but why would they have white powder on their hands? -- hmmm. Maybe ... are they making pottery?

Yes they are making something.

Spinning wheel, yes, something like that!

But no, not pottery.

Okay, maybe the powder on their fingers is to help keep whatever they're working with from sticking to their fingers? Or they keep putting their fingers in water, and the powder is what's left behind after the water dries.... Oooh, this sounds very familiar to me... think, Arcadia, think!

I would say the powder is more like residue or result from the process.

Weavers? On a hand loom?

No, sorry.

But it does have something to do with colors and patterns.

Colors and patterns kind of determine the value of the products.

Okay, I haven't been asleep this whole time, honest. Although I have been brain dead this whole time....

Does the position of their fingers have anything to do with how they make whatever they're making? Or is that just coincidence?

Clay, I don't say it's impossible but most likely no.

Cement, pigment, paint powder no.

Some kind of sewing?

Nope.

It has nothing to do with threads and HA! artificial coloring.

Whoa whoa whoa..

I was just giggling like an idiot looking at that head desk emoticon and you pulled the whole building under me.

Gem cutters/polisher is correct!

From raw material, going through several processes, with skilled eye and hand to determine cuts, pattern and shape.
