Hello, I am an English Student who lives in Spain and is working with the topic of Sherlock Holmes. Please can you answer a very short test related to my topic, thank you. I need to do a comparison between the knowledge of Spanish people about Sherlock and your knowledge. Thanks to you all. http://goo.gl/forms/Pnlv4xF9pL

Moderator Comment:

Danivi73 requests that you take this test only if you are a native speaker of English. This will make it possible to compare the answers of native English-speakers against those of native Spaniards.  Thank you.

I should probably also point out that the quiz questions pertain to Sherlock Holmes in general, rather than to the BBC program Sherlock.

Hello, Danivi73 -- welcome to Sherlock Forum!  :welcome:  Now that you're here, please look around and feel free to join in the discussions.

I have a question regarding your quiz -- do you want only people from England to answer it, or only people from the United Kingdom, or only people whose first language is English (which would include most people from the US, Canada, Australia, etc.), or what?  I am asking because this forum has members from all over the world, so please let us know who should take the quiz.

If you are able to edit your quiz, you might want to add a question asking where people are from, and/or mention that you want only certain people to answer.

I am sorry but I cannot respond to this...Sherlock Holmes has never been in love with anybody.

In a private message, Danivi73 has requested that you take this test only if you are a native speaker of English. This will make it possible to compare the answers of native English-speakers against those of native Spaniards.  (This is for a high-school class project.)  Thank you.

So -- I'm off to give my answers.

Maybe I should have said "the BBC/PBS program Sherlock."  ;)

Shall I let PBS know that?  They might be relieved to know that they can stop funding the production.  ;)

Answered the quiz, but should we point out the sentence structure errors in it? Never mind BrEnglish and AmEnglish!

Let's just try and help this student with their class project, OK?  :)

If you're a native speaker of English (any dialect), please go to http://goo.gl/forms/Pnlv4xF9pL and take the little quiz.  Thank you.
