Hello Sherlock Forum.

This is an absolute liberty, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me find the location for the attached Paul Weller album sleeve, from 2005.

The photographer's contact sheet has Baker Street, London on it, but I can't place it to any Baker Street location.

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, or if it was a building that has since been demolished.

Thank you

Lee Sargent

Hi Lee and welcome to the forum!

Not sure if we can help you there, but in a forum full of sleuths, everything should be possible . For starters, a quick googling showed that the graphic designer in question is named Simon Halfon (note: don't follow the link to his "homepage" listed here, that only leads to a parked/squatted site). While discogs says he's LA-based now, he seems to work mainly with British artists regardless so you might be onto something with Baker Street.

eta: I have also moved this thread to the Introduction sub-forum, since the one you posted it in is mainly used for technical help.

eta2: This book (thanks, Google!) says that both Paul Weller and Simon Halfon were "Beatles obsessed", so maybe make a crosspost on a Beatles forum and see if anyone there recognizes anything?

Aside: still no luck with the sleeve, but as it happens, Mr. Weller has one other connection of sorts to this forum - this guy look familiar somehow? :D

Hi, Lee!  I hope we can be of some help.

Good suggestion, Martina.  There's a Beatles store (T-shirts, etc.) on Baker Street, which may have something to do with the choice of location.

Lee -- it sounds like you may have been to Baker Street yourself, with no luck.  Is that so?  Or have you been relying on other peoples' photos, etc.?
