"New Content" page not showing everything

A couple of days ago, I noticed that the forum index pages (i.e., the main home page and the sub-forum "home" pages) are showing WAY more unread content (in bold-face) than my New Content page is showing.  It's still that way, both on our two home computers and my cell phone.

 

Right now, my New Content page shows nothing in boldface, but the index pages are showing the following as unread (each link will take you to first post that I have not read) -- I am omitting threads that I typically do not read anyhow:

 

Recently watched movies -- Not sure whether I had actually read this or not.

Favourite Books and Favourite Writers -- Reasonably certain I had not read this.

Myers-Briggs Personality Types -- Virtually certain I had not read this.

Hot Gifs -- Had definitely not seen that.

Cute Animal Pics -- Definitely not.

Introverts, how is your day? -- Definitely not.

Speedy's Cafe -- Definitely not.

Where is everybody from? -- Looks vaguely familiar, but I may have approved this new-member post.

Greetings from Finland -- Almost definitely not.

New Dutch member -- Definitely not.

Hello from the U.S.! -- Wouldn't swear one way or the other.

Benedict Cumberbatch News -- Pretty sure not & definitely not some of the ones further along.

Benedict Cumberbatch as "Dr. Strange" -- Not sure.

John Watson -- Probably not.

Sherlolly -- Definitely not.

Sherlock Holmes -- Definitely not.

Molly Hooper -- Probably not.

Share Your Head Canon! -- Pretty sure not.

Sherlock's Fun Facts and Trivia -- Probably not.

How would Sherlock Holmes look under a door -- Definitely not.

 

Sorry for all the "maybe's" -- many of those were posted several days ago, and I haven't had enough sleep lately, so I hate to say I haven't seen it if I'm actually not quite sure.

 

Other data:  I'm on Windows (have tried it on, I think, both 7 and XP) plus Chrome on my cell phone, no difference.  I just looked at the New Content page that I had fortuitously loaded just before starting this post, and NONE of those threads are on it as having recent posts, let alone unread posts.

 

Is anybody else having this problem? 

 

 

Added:  None of those are shown as having recent posts now either (after I read them).  The only threads being shown as having content added on or after the 10th are "Out of the Office" (a staff-only thread), Porn-Star Name, SHERLOCKED Convention, ST Beyond, Stories Behind User Names, "Hey, Tim!" (another staff-only thread), Series 4 Setlock, Series 4 News, and this thread.

 

Near as I can tell, this anomaly started on or about the 10th.

I do believe I have a clue!  Just noticed that every single one of the threads on my New Content page was started by -- me!  I'm virtually certain that I did not start any of the threads on the list above.  In fact, I checked a few that I thought I might have started, and I hadn't.

 

Did I accidentally set a Setting or a Preference wrong?  Off to check....

Yup!!!  :P

 

In the left-hand margin of the New Content page, there are a bunch of options -- one of which is :P "Items I started," which had somehow developed a check-mark.  Unchecked now, and lookit all that stuff!

 

I'm gonna blame my cell phone again, same as when I found myself mysteriously subscribed to some threads recently.  Turned out there's a little check-box next to the reply box (on the mobile version, I think -- can't check now, because I don't have wifi here), and I'd apparently bumped it now and then with my big clumsy fingers.

Eh... it's solved?? So I visit this thread for nothing? :p Not that I'm able to help though.

 

I use My Content (from the drop down menu on username) to check and reply the threads I'm involved with. It's easier for me although I misclick the one below and on top of that way too often.

 

Hmm hmm... since I am here :p, do you guys talk bad about us ordinary people in those staff thread eh? XD

Or having a wager to guess who drop out first? :p

Then how do you find out about new threads that you might be interested in?  Or do you already have enough threads to deal with?

On the right side bar there is a list of new threads. Since we don't have a lot of those, I can keep up.

 

However, I do miss quite a lot of posts, especially when I haven't been online for awhile and the threads are pushed to second page of My Content. Sometimes I read the thread but haven't had chance to reply, so it is not being highlighted anymore, then I forget about it and consider everything below it had my response already.

 

But when I have more time to spare, I would slowly dig out stuffs, unless I have lost touch for a long time, like all S4 threads.
