Actually, that's exactly it. I was so young at the time (about 7? 8?) that I wasn't allowed to have a passport, and was simply included on my Mom's. And that's expired. So the upshot is, I don't exist, I'm just a figment of y'all's imaginations.

Right, in the Sherlockverse, the super nova didn't occur till many years after the picture was supposedly painted (ergo the painting was a fake).

OK, so "our" VBS could be a strange visitor from the Sherlockverse (and as you suggest, perhaps also a time traveler).

You're not alone.  In fact, I'm not sure anyone understands it.  (Does anyone, anywhere, *ever* understand politics?)  But near as I can tell, the current UK situation is a severe case of you can't please all the people all the time, with a dash of be careful what you wish for.  Added:  If you can narrow down your general confusion to some specific questions, someone might be able to shed a bit of light on the matter.

On the positive side, it does seem to be sufficiently distracting that the British aren't currently spending much time criticizing US politics.
