Nope. Tried to do it from a few places with no success.

I found one that worked (see previous post).  I think it's the sizing that's wrong on that pic.  If you find one that's 350x338 instead of 346x334, it works.  The slightly smaller one makes the gif blink and act weird.

I'm up late today. Woke up just before my alarm at 6, looked at how dark and cold it was and went 'nope.'

I recognize the duck (hi, Cousin Gertie!) -- but what's that in the punchbowl, a narwhal?

I think it’s a narwhal... but what mood does it indicate?

Posted

Maybe we're supposed to be paying attention to the duck's mood -- thirsty?

Posted

Nope 'tis a singing Christmas narwhal. Which is just how I was feeling.

Posted

Well now -- suddenly it all makes sense!

What song is the narwhal singing?

Only You by Yazoo. Though I suspect he's doing the Flying Pickets version.

Why yes, of course. Obviously. :P

Well I certainly thought it was obvious. I mean okay, his xmas hat has fallen off and sunk to the bottom of the bowl, but still.

I really really want a mince pie

I’ve never had one, always wanted to try...

We have mince pies here, but they're full-sized pies that are cut into wedges, served on plates, and eaten with forks.  I'm very fond of them ... but those little hand-held pies look like fun!

Yep, I remember this conversation from last year.

Do you think it's too early to start wearing Christmas jumpers? Feels too early to me. I have two fun doggy ones for everyday and two smart pretty ones for special occasions.

I have never understood the rationale behind garments meant to be worn maybe two weeks of the year.  Well, maybe a special piece of jewelry or a funny hat, but an entire sweater seems kind of a waste of wardrobe space, not to mention money.  (Though if it was a present or from the Goodwill store, it'd be only a waste of wardrobe space.)  Just call me Grinch.  :D

... Because it's fun.

Feels too early to me, but I'm not feeling very Christmasy in general.

When I was a kid my mother always made me dress up in holiday clothes.  But I didn't mind too much, because I loved holidays and I liked wearing something special.  I still follow that tradition.  I have a couple sweaters that I only wear for Christmas, and a Halloween sweater.  I always wear green on St. Patrick's Day, and red-white-blue on Independence Day.

Like you, I will sometimes wear holiday colors -- those you mention, plus red & green for Christmas.  But that doesn't require any special garments.

I love Christmas jumpers, I especially love them on men, the manlier (the man) and the sillier (the jumper) the better. It says, 'I don't take myself too seriously, I'm up for a laugh' and always makes me chuckle. :D

I'm not feeling very Christmassy yet either, though I did overdose on mince pies last night and ended up going to bed ridiculously early in order to recover. On the other hand my Christmas depression hasn't hit yet either, so that's a win.

Guess what I'm going to see on Monday night... here's a clue... Oooooooolaaaaaaaa!

Since those crumbs fell on the plate with an audible 'clunk', I'm guessing the outside is a bit like shortbread, is it?  This style of handheld mince pie is not sold in America that I have ever seen.

Just wanted to add that this scene is, I believe the second time ever we saw Sherlock actually eating (the first being a bun of some kind in ASiB directly after John insulted his website.  Here, he is consuming a mince pie at a time of stress (family Christmas).  So I deduce that Sherlock Holmes defaults to eating carbs for comfort.  Ergo, he is human after all.  Plus we also know he LOVES ginger nuts!
