Actually, I thought this deserved its own topic, so I've taken the liberty of splitting it off.  Thanks for pointing this out!

These four stories are pastiches by John Taylor, purported to be based on the contents of a wooden (not tin this time!) box where Watson has kept memorabilia of some old too-hot-to-report cases which have now cooled sufficiently that he feels free to report on them.  Judging by comments I've seen online, the reading is (of course) superb, but several people found the background music pretty distracting.

Unfortunately, the page you originally linked to appears to be a pirated copy of the audio book -- but fortunately the audio CD (and also what appears to be audio streaming) is available for a reasonable price (or even free) from Amazon UK.  Note that the streaming comes with a one-month free trial, so presumably one can sign up, listen to this book, and then decide whether or not to keep the service.

On my Apple bookstore I can download these for £4.99 or buy them online for around £7 which is pretty good for 2 discs. I haven’t bought them yet. (Yet!) I’ve been thinking of getting the full Canon read by Stephen Fry but I still haven’t got all of the Clive Morrison radio plays yet!! Sadly I’ve had to seriously put the breaks on my Holmes spending so that I can waste money on crap like food and bills!

Life’s just not fair.😪

If you mean the one about The Lost Special, that was originally an ACD bona fide short story, and like with Hound of the Baskervilles, Sir Arthur retrofitted it to include Sherlock Holmes during the original hiatus. I bought the CDs ages ago, but have no desire to subscribe to anything Apple at the moment, the way the Big Bad Wolf Mr Cook is going to remove iTunes in favour of sheer capitalist lucre! It's already a joke that the stand to their newest iMac costs an extra $1,000!

No, not The Lost Special (as you say, that's an actual ACD story).  This audio book consists of four short pastiches by John Taylor:  "An Inscrutable Masquerade," "The Conundrum of Coach 13," "The Trinity Vicarage Larceny," and "The 10.59 Assassin."

And even though it may be available through the Apple bookstore, it's not an Apple product.  The discs come from the BBC, and the streaming service is from Amazon.
