I wondered if it would be possible to have all of the Sixty Sherlock Holmes stories listed here, so that we could discuss each story individually? But only if this isn't too much trouble to set up.

Well, you're in the right subforum, so yes, it's entirely possible.  Something like ten stories already have their own threads, so all you'd need to do would be start threads for the other fifty or so.

I would recommend not starting them all at once, though -- people would likely feel overwhelmed and hardly respond to any of them.  I'd suggest starting just one at a time, preferably beginning each thread with a question (something specific to the story) to get the discussion started.  Then once that discussion has played out for the time being, you could start the next thread.

No worries, Carol; I'll give it some thought.

Sir Douglas, I personally thought your thought worthy of great attention.
Have you thought on your thought any further?
We could well do with a thread or section on Doyle himself perhaps - a rather large arena of interest and knowledge I haven't found yet.  (Not that it doesn't exist...my time is just somewhat limited as yet.)

My two cents' worth (which won't even buy you a gumball these days) is that it's best to create a post for a particular story only when you have some interesting little hook to get people's attention -- a truly puzzling question, perhaps, or an explanation of some puzzling detail that would have been obvious to the Victorian reader.

You can of course also include a synopsis of the beginning of the story if you like -- but I think you'll get more responses if you lead with the hook.
