  1. Haha I meant from a storytelling point of view: taking a mainly comic-relief character and giving them a crucial role to the plot. Granted, JKR has done this....but still.
  2. Here is a rather excellent blog post: http://finalproblem.tumblr.com/post/15313777538/ellipsis-sherlockians-something-that-hasnt-been Pretty much all that's done is eliminate every single character we've met so far, but they do list the personality traits of our Mystery Character. Please, dear god, let it not be Anderson. That would be like making Gimli into a Ring Bearer.
  3. Thanks Carol - I was using my phone to write last night, so maybe that's where it messed up. Thanks, Medic, for fixing that for me. I haven't watched Una's video, but I certainly will tonight! I doubt he'll reply - he generally only re-tweets to wish people a happy birthday and so on. I will try and find out what the official consensus is among the fandom regarding the canonicity of BBC publishings.
  4. Carol, Yes, of course you may call me Hedwig Thank you so much for taking the time to watch all those videos! I agree - everyone is definitely "in character", after browsing fanfic, I think the consensus among the fans is that the BBC blogs are canon. I tweeted Steven, so we'll see if he replies Let me know what you think of the other websites I linked to, particularly Molly's blog...I nearly suffocated from laughter at the comments on one of her posts. You'll know which one I'm talking about when you read it
  5. Excellent point, Dexter! Unless Frankland was rich enough to live both out in Dartmoor, and keep a flat in London. Perhaps he had held onto that extra flat after he moved to Dartmoor, and wanted to rent it out to Sherlock...gah my brain!
  6. Carol, while I'm at it, I'll add the direct links to the other official websites: http://www.mollyhooper.co.uk/ http://www.connieprince.co.uk/ https://twitter.com/#!/TheWhipHand
  7. Jacob Sowersby, the fanboy:
  8. Media Coverage video:
  9. Oh, sorry, Carol. Here are the links: (Moriarty's post): http://www.youtube.c...h?v=enIwRGc8XlM
  10. @Carol: I had to watch the videos on Youtube as well The videos are another argument for the validity of the blogs: someone would have had to go onto the set, write the script, hire the actors, shoot the vids, and then post it online. It is highly improbable that these blogs were not the result of intense collaboration between the site-makers and the show-writers. For example, when JK Rowling debuted her official website back in 2004 (since re-vamped) there was initially some questions as to what was canon, and what was. Obviously, JKR did not "make" the website herself, she hired other people to do that, but she wrote everything on there; hence, everything published on her official site is considered "canon". The same now holds true for Pottermore We should now distinguish between the "original" canon and the "show" canon - how about ACD!Canon vs BBC!Canon?
  11. @Carol: Did you watch all of the videos as well? What do you make of them? I know this thread is about @theimprobableone, but why do you think the media failed to mention that Moriarty was lying up on the roof with his brains blown out? You'd think they'd be all OVER that...stuff.
  12. @Undead Medic So, does this mean I am approved now? @Carol I would assume that all posts, comments, and videos were either created and/or written by Mofftiss & Co., because if you look closely at the words on the screen (during SiB, particularly) while John is typing up his blog posts, the words are exactly the same as the ones featured on the blog itself. Compare, for example, the scene that John is typing up about "The Speckled Blonde" or "The Geek Interpreter". Why would Mofftiss feature those exact words within the show if they hadn't been written for that specific purpose? They are fanboys of the canon - I'm sure they were DELIGHTED to write all their own fanfic
  13. The definitive list of links can be found here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b018ttws/features/disclaimer All of these are considered canon, since they have been created by the BBC.
  14. I have my doubts about it being Dr. Franklin, but that is more because we are looking at it from the other side of the fourth wall, and not because we've had any evidence to the contrary (yet.) Besides, his storyline appears to be over, yet the connection was never made between the two characters. Just doesn't seem very...."Moftiss", for lack of a better adjective I am prepared to hear all other arguments for any other character, seen or unseen.
  15. Yes, but theimprobableone has been "present" in the storyline since before even Watson met Sherlock. But Franklin knew of Sherlock before they actually met in person; "I'm never off (your blog)".
