  1. Oh I thought he had taken another hit, so it was a highlight
  2. I kinda had the same backstory for Sherlock and Lestrade. Lestrade clearly knew he had drug problems in ASiP, I can't imagine he just forgot. They seemed closer than that. Lestrade always seemed a bit like the big brother Sherlock needed. He tried to run herd on him throughout the series and I think that's what Sherlock needed. I just don't get Lestrade abandoning him. Same with Molly. She slaps him in HLV and scolds him over the drugs, but after what happened at John's house she doesn't even stop by? These are supposed to be people who love Sherlock... I swear there are times I think "friends" were the worst thing to happen to him. I don't get Mycroft at all... he knew something was wrong and he didn't do anything? Just put surveillance on the house? I don't get that at all. If Sherlock wasn't responding to him, he could have called their parents. He's supposed to be the smart one who worries about his little brother. There's no real excuse for I'm letting this happen. I'm just grateful for Mrs. Hudson, even if she should have reacted sooner. She at least did something and got him help. I feel like TLD was the only Sherlock episode. The other two existed to drive the plot which is weird with Euros featuring so predominantly in TLD.
  3. Oh, you three.... :'( We've talked before about Sherlock's seeming lack of a sense of self-worth, haven't we? I think that's why half the people here always go around thinking he's in need of a good cuddle... Lol... this season he definitely needed a cuddle... it's surprising because in the episode, it seems like no one checked on him other than Mrs. Hudson. Mary sacrificed herself for him. That would mess with anyone's brain and it doesn't look like anyone even checked on him. John said no one had seen him for weeks. You have a friend who you know was drug issues and that suffered a trauma and you left them alone for weeks? I just can't imagine it. I would have thought Molly or Lestrade knowing him would have forced their way in (although I'm sort of glad Lestrade didn't... would have been a completely different show lol). Shoot, that Mycroft didn't put his foot down over the drugs is surprising. I've always thought Sherlock needed a friend that wouldn't get pissed off and walk away. Someone who would stay and fight back when he was being an idiot. I agree, I think his younger years must have been difficult. There is something the writers are implying. Just not sure what the extent is. I don't know that feeling sad, lonely and guilty mean suicidal though. I don't know. If we get more episodes, I'm sure Mycroft will let out what happened in the past...
  4. I dunno... it seemed like he was previously suicidal. It's hard to explain, like he'd been talked down before and taken for chips. I took a friend for ice cream once. I don't think there was anyone around to talk him down after Mary died. He turned to drugs, not taking himself out. It was never his intention to kill himself in this episode, he just wanted John's attention and then he wanted to take down Smith. No matter what he says I don't think that the plan was to actually kill himself. He just wanted to be ill enough to be in the hospital. I think he was depressed, but he understood that you're death happens to those around you, not you yourself. As self-centered as he behaves, that doesn't seem like a lesson he would learn unless he'd experienced it himself. Writers, we need backstory!
  5. I have to admit I'm curious how Sherlock knows the only perk to being suicidal is chips...
