cannot paste anything

if I try to copy and paste something. nothing comes up and then page freezes

 

how do you paste on here I have tried the paste button and also the right click nothing happens

Cutting and pasting usually works just fine here (though sometimes the background color is different).  However, I have seen the symptoms you're describing when copying from certain websites (though I don't recall the page freezing).  In these cases, what you've pasted really is there, you just can't see it.

 

What works best for me is to toggle into plain-text mode (the "light switch" at the upper left corner of the editor toolbar) before pasting.  If you still don't see the text, then you have a different problem, and I have no idea what it is.  But if you do see the text, check at the end of it for a link that you did not intend to include -- usually something like "for more information, go to website.com."  You can either delete that part or leave it in, as you choose.  Then toggle back into WYSIWYG mode (same "light switch") and your text should still be there.
