I personally don't think that Moriarty is actually going to come back. I believe that the theories that it could be provoked by a fan or one of his underground network or that this was already planned by Moriarty pre-death would be very interesting, and theory number 5 about Richard Brook sounds intriguing. Moriarty coming back might be a bit too predictable, so I would not be in the least surprised if this turned out just to be a red herring. Also, how can you fake shooting yourself in the head with a gun? I would love to know how Moftiss would get themselves out of that one.

I agree with you to an extent. But John, of all the characters, is hardly the most riveting. We are only really interested in him as a result of his friends and especially Sherlock. Without Sherlock, would we find John that much of a character? Unless there is some sort of distant connection between John and someone interesting that could shake things up a bit. The fourth season...yes, it will be very difficult to follow on from Season 3. I thought that it would be impossible to follow on from Season 2. I worry. Sherlock in rehab would be something to really hold out for, as well. Fingers crossed.

I would like to see a bit more detail about Mary's secret past (apart from the fact that she is some sort of intelligence agent or something, we didn't find out) and we will probably finally find out how Moriarty can somehow beat death. After another 2 year wait. Yay. OK, Sherlock beating death is plausible. He's Sherlock Holmes and I would expect nothing less. But Moriarty?

A brilliant episode, which somehow managed to impress me despite my expectations being really high. Moffat, you did good. I was a bit disappointed that Magnussen only appeared for one episode (or does he?) but that's irrelevant. A good villain, although nothing villain-wise tops Moriarty. Sherlock and Mycroft smoking?!
