Quote box doesn't know where to stop

Recommended Posts

I've noticed this sort of thing a few times since the new quote algorithm went into effect.  Dunno whether it's a bug or if I'm doing something wrong, but sometimes whatever follows a quote box in my post gets included in the box.  Usually, if I keep tinkering with it, the problem eventually goes away (though I'm never quite sure why).

But in this post, I've tried everything I can think of, and the second photo still shows up inside the quote box.  No great harm done in this case, but I'd like to know how to deal with this in cases where it does make a difference.  (And if the answer turns out to be, "Go to bed when you're too tired to type straight," then at least I'll have learned something!)

I have fixed that post for you, this is how I did it:

If you edit the posts where this happens, and toggle from BBCode to html mode using the light switch button on the top left of the editor window you can then move the closing  tag so it is above the image link, this will place the image outside the quote box.

Thanks, Tim.  This puzzles me even further, though, because I had already tried doing that (and I'm pretty sure that's one method that had worked for me on other occasions), but when I toggled the edit mode this time, it showed the

as already being where it belonged.
