Two of the lead actors in current Holmes incarnations first came to my attention on the television program Ally McBeal, namely Lucy Liu (Joan Watson in Elementary) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Sherlock Holmes in the Sherlock Holmes movies). What's next -- Calista Flockhart as Irene Adler? Dyan Cannon as Mrs. Hudson?

And of course, the recent stage production Frankenstein starred both Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller (Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock and in Elementary, respectively).

Have there been other movies or tv shows featuring two or more of the current crop of Holmes-related actors?

Rupert Graves has shown up in other detective-y things, but not necessarily with other Holmesian actors - Wallander, Lewis, Law and Order:UK, Scott and Bailey, New Tricks and Death in Paradise to name a few (Death in Paradise was why he had a suntan in Hounds).

Oh really? He was in Law and Order: UK? I must have missed that episode!

RG was brilliant - in my opinion at least. It was series 3, episode 3 "Defence" (another plus for me was Paul Darrow - Avon in Blakes 7 - as the judge).

There is a youtube vid of RGs appearances through the ep
