Hi

I've unfortunately missed the new Sherlock Holmes series being released on BBC, would you say it's worth watching? I really liked the older version with Jeremy Brett, so I hope that this version is as good :)

Hello, Snide -- and welcome to Sherlock Forum!   :welcome:

This forum was created primarily to discuss BBC's Sherlock, which I assume is the program you're referring to *.  Therefore most members here have a generally positive attitude toward the show, albeit with reservations in some cases.  The Brett series was wonderful, and many of us here agree that it's the best Victorian Holmes adaptation.

Since Sherlock is set in the current day, it's in a different category.  I recommend that you watch at least a few episodes, beginning with Series 1 ("A Study in Pink," "The Blind Banker," and "The Great Game," see what you think, then come back and add your opinions in the BBC Sherlock section of the forum.  It's always good to hear a fresh voice!

* I just noticed, however, that you've already listed your favorite Sherlock episodes under your avatar -- so if you're referring to some other, even newer, BBC program, please tell us more about it.

Thanks, Martina -- I hadn't heard of that.  Rather than being dramatic adaptations, it's readings of several of Arthur Conan Doyle's Holmes short stories:

The 16-part series combines faithful readings of the original texts with atmospheric sound design and bespoke music.

OK, found it -- it's a series of podcasts, available here.

@Snide -- are you asking about this or Sherlock -- or something else?
