Global Holmes Pastiches

Hi everyone,

I am preparing to undertake a hypothetical journey around the world, reading books from different locals, as well as looking at local music, food and other aspects of culture.

One recurring theme I would like to include is how different cultures take on the quintessentially British character of Holmes. With this in mind does anyone have suggestions for Holmes pastiches set in different places, written by locals. I already have:

That's an interesting idea, tp1983!  Offhand, I have no items to add, but am wondering what country your first item takes place in?  The Samba originated in Brazil, but a Mandala might be from anywhere in southern/eastern Asia.

Yes, A Samba for Sherlock is Brazilian. Mandala is set in Tibet and India (written by a Tibetan).

I also forgot Sherlock Holmes and The Gallows Growler which is set in Greenland.

Dunno if the location is exotic enough, but The Canary Trainer is set in Paris, France.

Hi!

Paris is plenty exotic enough for my tastes but I was ideally looking for stories written by a native of the setting

Thus, as your thread's title says, pastiches.  Unless, of course, any of ACD's Holmes stories take place in Scotland?
