Aaaah, after last episode which was a tad disappointing i feel the real Sherlock is back as a series. What an episode!! Did Moffat write this one? I think the difference just shows. I think this episode is among the top 2 in the 8 episodes so far. Sherlock's speech as the best man. Sherlock be my best man, will you?! The brotherly love,sherlock constantly iterating that Watson saved him. Just brilliant. There have been only 2-3 scenes of Mary and Sherlock together but the chemistry is just something. I think i am just in love with Mary as a character. I just hope that these guys don't kill/harm her The short build up to the wedding was good as well, the small part where they solve the bloody guard together. Since, the wedding is said to be in early spring, i think there was enough time for sherlock and watson to get comfortable with each other again. Linking up the murders was just brilliant in itself. I knew they would somehow connect the various anecdotes in sherlock's speech to the main case and the same happened. Mrs. Hudson is so funny. P.S. Jenine (bridesmaid) was hot, esp when she said "Can I keep you?" to Sherlock.

Since, this thread is under greater london, i was wondering how many of you guys are football fans, esp with london having 7-8 of them with 6 of them in the top flight of the english league. Elementary shows as Sherlock not being a fan of Arsenal football club. That's a shame. I am one.

Saw a recent conan interview of Ben's. He apparently learned about reptiles, bats and he has actually played smaug in it and not just given his voice. Using motion capture, he played smaug and he walked like a reptile. This is just so awesome.

I agree. Love for the show will sort of make me think it was a good idea. But i was just discussing this with my friends and all of them kind of thought this was a bit poor from the writers. Even a small numeric code to undo the bomb which sherlock deduces would have had made more sense. Like Sherlock says "Everybody's a critic"eh?

BTW, did anyone not find it a bit below gatiss and moffat to come up with an idea as stupid as a bomb having a switch? I mean, it is just like saying "Haha, Hurt Locker, you are just a fool." I mean every army has a highly specialized unit from bomb disposal. I was really disappointed by that thing, but i think they had to come up with something silly like that to accomodate the following scene. I don't know, i just found it really silly,

Was not this season scheduled to air earlier, november? I thought that could be the reason watson sported mustache, for movember and the gun plot treason reference too.

Loved the episode. The opening scene with its upbeat BG track was really something. For a sec, i believed it to be the explanation until the hypnotizer comes around and puts watson to sleep. Mycroft was brilliant. I liked the bit where he says he learnt serbian in couple hours non-chalantly and Sherlock dismisses it as slowing down. The sibling bonding was just fantastic, esp mycroft. Sherlock finally seems to be investing and believing in friends and appealing mycroft to do the same was quite touching for me. Watson with mustache looks ghastly. His reaction to Sherlock's return was just amazing, exactly what i had imagined it would be. Then Sherlock and watson completing the cuss words was just brilliant from the writers, especially f and cough . A quick word on Mary, she really looks an adorable character doesn't she. It would be bad to see her on the villain's side. I found the main case in itself a bit disappointing, not much of clever deductions etc. But ofc, this episode was all about Sherlock's emphatic return than anything else. Some of the canon references were brilliant as usual. The writers place it in the plot ever so subtly. The appearance of Ben's parents as the Holmes was a classy touch too.

Would any of you guys be a knowing a really good game which can be played online, which is like a murder mystery like ones our own sherlock solves? I am not very interested in online board games as such. I tried googling it but did not find any interesting ones. I am a bit bored for now, so i just wanted something to stimulate me, if you know what i mean Thanks

Given that it is based on Conan's work , i am sure there are lot of references. It is on us to find it. One of the very obvious ones was the reference to his other works in "scandal in Belgravia." E.g. 'The Geek interpreter' which was "The Greek Interpreter' in ACD's original works , also 'The speckled Blonde' which was originally 'The speckled band' P.S What is Canon references? Was this a serial which came before Sherlock, i saw it in some other thread here in the forum. Or is it just Conan mispelled?

Hello, i am new to this forum. While the interlull between the seasons sort of made me detached from the series as a whole, the news that the first episode shooting of the latest season has been completed got me all excited again and here i am. I see that lot of theories have been posted, trying to deduce how Sherlock brilliantly faked his death. I think this is the first place where i have come across the Rhodedenderon ponticum theory, which was one of my first thoughts on how he could have survived the fall. However, i see that some nice counter-arguments have been thrown around as well. Of course, some totally new theories as well. I guess we are all Holmes in our own rights, eh? I'll post some more as and when i stumble on new clues (If i do).
