  1. Ooh, so close... One word's not right ;-)

  6. Ah of course! Molly! "Bad day was it?" When he's going at it with the riding crop. Lol. Love that scene.
  7. Hm, thought it might end in "can it?" Hmmmmm. A?
  8. Thanks. Watching last night's documentary on Sherlock is cheering me up. My lovely Benedict makes me feel better :-)
  9. I knew today was going to be a crap day. I just had a feeling. And it was. :-(
  10. Something else I've been thinking about Mary is how her character really doesn't fit the backstory and hints we were given about her character. I know she was lying about her past, but not all of her personality was a lie, and there were familiar aspects of her personality even after the truth came out. This person just didn't seem like an assassin, someone who'd killed lots of people and been "very bad." More believable for me would have been some sort of revenge storyline where she had killed people who had been responsible for her parents' deaths. I can believe she would kill people who had torn her family apart, and that she would lie to protect that secret. But being a CIA agent (we're assuming) and then going rogue and leaving piles of bodies littered behind her... It just doesn't fit the Mary we know. There still could have been a shock moment when Mary is revealed as "not who she says" and elements of her past and crimes are revealed, but for me it wasn't really done in a plausible way. I also would have found Mary more likable and her actions more forgivable if we'd heard an emotional backstory of her family being killed and how she'd vowed to avenge their deaths. Then I could have understood John forgiving her more too.
  11. I like to think that Mycroft planned to rescue him from the situation like he did at the beginning of TEH. He did say after all that losing Sherlock would break his heart.
  12. I dreamt about Sherlock (the show, sadly not really the man himself) and I woke up thinking about it and I still can't forgive Mary. For lying, yes. For having a dodgy past, yes. For planning to kill Magnussen, yes. For shooting Sherlock? No. Never. And John DOES forgive her. For trying to kill his best friend (because I can't swallow that guff about her "saving Sherlock's life" - it WAS a kill shot because he DIED and only survived because he saved himself). I just can't forgive her, which makes me unable to see why John can, and Sherlock as well who seems to forgive her with such ease ("we can trust Mary," "give my love to Mary," "that's my girl"). After TRF I was DEVESTATED but satisfied with the episode and my heart was so full of Sherlock and John's love for each other. Now all I can think about is how the hell Mary got away with what she did, how she's ruined my love of her and how I now see her as a real obstacle to the Sherlock and John-ness that is at the heart of the show.
  13. Yeah, that bit made me laugh too! Really must sleep now. Up in four and a half hours :-/
  14. I agree with this 100%!!!
  15. Right, I must go to bed or I'll never get through tomorrow. One final thought on the whole "Mary has betrayed me horribly and I can't bring myself to forgive her" thing - I'm worried how it will affect my enjoyment of TEH and, especially, TSoT. I have loved the Mary scenes, especially the Mary and Sherlock scenes and their friendship, and now... hm. It's going to take a bit of time to get used to.
  16. When Sherlock says to John, "Give my love to Mary," I have to say, "She doesn't deserve your love Sherlock!!!"
  17. I also feel sorry for Janine. Even if she was using Sherlock as well and managed to make some money, she never did get to have her wicked way with him, poor girl! But then I suppose she did see him in the bath
  18. Magnussen had John put in the bonfire to test Sherlock to see if John was his 'pressure point'. He saw how far Sherlock would go for him and realised that he was.
  19. Fantastic analogy! You're quite right!
  20. My head is a complete jumble because of Mary. I really liked her and didn't want her to be a 'baddie', and whatever excuse she has for doing 'bad' things, shooting Sherlock is not something I can forgive. And I don't really get why Sherlock says she 'saved his life' - he saved his own life by being smart, and then John and the paramedics and the doctors saved his life. And then, Sherlock again, willed himself back to life to save John. And at the hospital when John told Mary Sherlock had pulled through, she was not happy. I can't wrap my head around John forgiving the woman who shot his best friend, lied to him from the beginning and has so many secrets. I know she's carrying his baby, but... I just can't see it happening. Is that to all be swept under the carpet now? "My wife's an assassin with a false identity, but all is forgiven and it's back to domestic bliss"? Really, I would have preferred her to die, as I thought she was going to. I would have been heartbroken, yes, and felt sad for John, but at least it would have been more believable. Now I don't know what to think or feel. It's all conflicted
  21. I'm the exact opposite - loved the portrayal of Moriarty, but I feel this season as a whole has been weaker without him, and I'm underwhelmed by Magnussen.
  22. Most of Sherlock's 'pressure points' make sense but Hounds of the Baskerville? Firstly the ep was The Hounds of Baskerville, not THE Baskerville, and why is that case a pressure point?
  23. Interesting... I am going to be brutally honest, though... It didn't top TRF, which I thought it might. Not for me, anyway.
