Me too! I guess 'staying alive' isn't such a problem for him after all

Oh and I forgot to say... I knew Redbeard was a dog. Well, animal. Probably dog. Child Sherlock was so sweet. Who is/was "the other one"???? Not enough Lestrade in this ep AT ALL.

I think it's because he's a brilliant villain - way more entertaining that Magnusson. I was pleased just to see him when Sherlock was dying... Okay, only watched once (obviously!) but I have to say: 1) The scene where Molly hit Sherlock was hilarious. I bet she preferred kissing him though. Just a hunch. 2) Sherlock and Janine... is it weird that I kind of like them together? I don't know. I just do 3) The scene where Molly and Anderson 'helped' Sherlock (well, he helped himself) not to die was brilliant. And when he started fighting to live for John... that's when I first started crying! 4) The licking and the flicking. Odd. I didn't like him. But the vaults being in his mind palace was clever. 5) Christmas at the Holmes house. Brilliant. Especially when Mycroft told his mum she'd got potatoes on his laptop and when they both tried to pretend they weren't smoking 6) Sherlock's face when Magnusson was flicking John... the hurt on his face, seeing his friend like that... more crying from me 7) Sherlock shooting Magnusson and risking everything to set John and Mary free. *sob* 8) John and Sherlock's goodbye. Lots more tears. Lots. 9) Mary. Mary. Mary. I don't know what to say about her. I had suspicions I wanted to bury - her knowing about skip ciphers, Sherlock reading that she was a liar, the message from 'Cam' at the wedding... but I really can't sort out my feelings for her. It's going to take some time. And I REALLY want to know more about what she did... And I was convinced she was going to die tonight. Interesting. Are we actually going to have a baby at 221B?? 10) MORIARTY. OMG. I need to go and flail and think and cry and wail about there being no more new Sherlock for ages for a bit.

I just... I can't... I thought they were going to say Magnusson was still alive. But Jim?! How can that be? And is it strange that I'm delighted?

Correct! That speech made me SOB. Still does, everytime I watch it. And that line is my favourite :-) -
I'm sure Sherlock could agree with that ;-) Aaaaaahhhhh half an hour to go. HALF AN HOUR. I think I need to breathe into a paper bag now.

At least it's one that's pleasant to live with, don't you agree? I'm happy to self-medicate with lots of Sherlock watching

On How to Be Sherlock Holmes, the BBC description of the programme is: For over 100 years, more than 80 actors have put a varying face to the world's greatest consulting detective - Sherlock Holmes. And many of them incorporated details - such as the curved pipe and the immortal line 'Elementary, my dear Watson' - that never featured in Conan Doyle's original stories. In charting the evolution of Sherlock on screen, from early silent movies to the latest film and television versions, Timeshift shows how our notion of Holmes today is as much a creation of these various screen portrayals as of the stories themselves.

You can follow the Q&A on Twitter too. Just follow @BBCOne. There's also a programme on BBC4 tonight called "Timeshift: How to be Sherlock Holmes."

I hardly got any sleep after the last two episodes, so... I could not agree with you more! There's a live Q&A with Team Moffat-Gatiss right after the episode, and then I'll want to go wild about it on this forum. The other two episodes I had to watch a second time the same night; I just could not let them go. I was exactly the same - as soon as the episode finished, I watched it again and then posted my thoughts on it. And then I stayed up for about another two hours after that watching my favourite scenes over and over. (Seriously, I think Sherlock addiction is a medical problem for me). So goodness knows what time I'll get to sleep tonight, or what a wreck I'll be tomorrow - both sleep deprived and still emotional!! Looking forward to the Q&A though

Me neither! And welcome to the forum! Great name by the way. I wouldn't mind being Sherlock's scarf Anyway, yes. The episode. I'm trying to prepare myself by imagining the worst things that could happen, and imagining that it's going to be ridiculous emotional torture to watch. Then maybe it won't be quite that bad

Thanks for that link Carol, not seen that before. I still can't believe I've always heard that wrong, after seeing it so many times! And there's no T I'm afraid. Not even kidding this time! -
I have to be up so early tomorrow morning and I just know I'm not going to be able to sleep much tonight! Why can't Sherlock be on Friday nights, so I could have a lie-in the next morning?!

Nope, no i. Just kidding I / _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ , / _ _ _ / I / _ _ _ / _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ _ . Not sure if that helps much though! -
Well, I'm really looking forward to finally see Magnussen. And I hope he's going to be at least as good as Moriarty. I mean, I really enjoyed the last two episodes but it's about time we had a proper baddie again But that doesn't mean that I want him to hurt any of my favourite characters I know. I'm very scared for all these people I care about! And even though I know Sherlock won't die, he's obviously going to be hurt emotionally or physically or both, and I'm just not prepared to see that
