  1. I live in a house built in 1756. It ws updated in 1865, I have a sunken floor, my sister lives in a property built in 1835, she also has a sunken floor. We know it's original to the property as it is in the original plans. Just an insight from a history geek here in England. Kate
  2. Let's not forget that John kills off the cabbie in 'A study in pink' with no hesitation. He's also still undergoing therapy for PTSD (I assume as he's still writing his blog and that was part of his therapy?) Kate
  3. Gosh, I'm surprised that there's so much negativity about the episode. I highlighted last week that I was concerned that Mary wasn't all she seemed to be (Liar) but I don't think it's a fair comment that 'most of the fandom hate Mary' I was prepared not to like her, but I do! I've seen very little against her on Twitter/Tumblr. I always liked the character in the book and of course John falls for her immediately there. I really didn't know what to expect, but I did enjoy it immensely and for me, both Mark Gatiss and Ben. C played some beautiful scenes, and some genuine brotherly tenderness between mycroft and 'Sherl'/'Shezza' I'm not sure what to make of the scene with Molly. It was great to see her so in control (and no longer engaged!!) and I thought Sherlock showed real remorse when she gave him that dressing down. I have the blues today I'll admit, not looking forward to another long wait until Series 4. Can I just add, one more thing (I liked the Columbo reference!) that the only thing that spoiled it for me as someone working in theatre/TV was the make up!!! Sherlocks make up was actually running in the padded cell scene. Very yellow and poorly done. Sorry. Had to mention it! Kate
  4. With regards to Mary, I keep think of the words that flashed up in TEH .. 'only child, linguist, nurse, guardian, liar' The episode gets a slating in the Daily Mail, but then that doesn't surprise me.
  5. Oh maaaaaannnn.... funny, sad, funny again...a bit silly and then break-your-heart sad. And now I have a reaaaally bad feeling about episode 3 and then another two year bloody wait. Feel depressed already. Kate
  6. Most definitely!
  7. 'Sherlock or darts' A bit like 'Cake or death' Thanks Carol, one of my favourite Mrs Hudson lines was 'That was right on my bins' and I'd be intrigued to know what goes into John and Sherlocks bin. When I say 'intrigued' I think I mean 'disgusted'.
  8. I think we found the right place Gemma!
  9. Thank you Caya! It has saved my sanity today! Kate
  10. I need to rewatch it. I was worried about Mary as I just read 'The sign of the four' and wondered how she would fit in and I actually really warmed to her instantly, but I do worry about the 'liar' when Sherlock was deducing her.. Molly, oh Molly breaks my heart. Been there and done the whole loving someone unobtainable (horrid) and when she decided to go in the opposite direction from Sherlock and he didn't even look back my heart broke all over again. I thought the way that Sherlock revealed himself to John was hilarious but part of me really felt bad for John, but it was typical Sherlock..misreading human nature but I loved the new sensitivity that SH showed, just moments when I thought 'he does have a heart after all' Kate
  11. I'm in Yorkshire (East) hello all! K
  12. Thank you! Awesome site.
  13. Hello all, I finally caved in and joined a forum as I feel I'm boring my family by talking about Sherlock! Great to be amongst like minded folks. Kate x
