Hi, people.

I'm very late to the party, I know. Unbelievably, I've only just discovered "Sherlock" this past week actually. It's not like I've never heard of it before. I've seen articles written about it here and there, of course, but I've always just ignored those. This didn't look like something that would appeal to me... the lead actor was kinda funny-looking, and the concept for the show is a little ridiculous. I mean, Sherlock Holmes? ...In the 21st century? Lame, gross, count me out. (Go ahead, throw your eggs and tomatoes, folks. I deserve it, I know. :D)

I only started watching because I was bored and there was nothing good on TV... and now, I'm happy to be eating my words, re-watching old episodes, joining the fan forums, and praising the show up and down to anyone who cares to listen. I really love this show. I still remember the moment I knew it was going to click with me. It was that scene in episode one with Sherlock standing in the morgue. He was upside down, sniffing at a corpse, and after a short exchange with Molly, proceeded to whip it with a riding crop to the accompaniment of cheery music in the background. Torn between horror and hilarity, I thought to myself, "Ok, this definitely isn't something I've seen before." And the addiction quickly spiral out of control from there...

Anyway... this is the first British show I've ever watched and I am beyond impressed. No wonder people are so crazy about it. I feel embarrassed to have been so assuming before I'd even seen it, but I'm glad I gave it a shot, or I would have missed out on something quite wonderful.

*Hears the word Canadian and perks her head up* :)

Hello hello! Welcome aboard! I know what you mean, I had similar reservations about Doctor Who before finally sitting down and watching an episode. I'm so glad we have the ability to be open-minded to try out new things like this, there's some great stuff out there just waiting to be discovered!
