Is anybody Holmes?

Recommended Posts

Hello, My-my-mycroft, and welcome to Sherlock Forum!  :welcome:  You'll find quite a number of Mycroft lovers here!

You seem to have enclosed your post inside two quote boxes somehow (which is presumably what you meant by "not sure how to post on this forum").  No prblem, I'll go fix it for you.

Thank you! I'll have to look around for some instructions. I did kinda cringe when I saw I had posted the same thing three times!

Oh, no problem whatsoever!  New members do it all the time.  And you seem to have gotten the hang of "only once" quickly enough.

I've been having a look around and the dates on the last posts look quite old! Am I looking in the wrong place or is there not much activity these days?

I'm interested in starting an RPG but, again, is there much activity?

The RPGs seem to have gone on hiatus, but there is a fair amount of new activity.  If you're looking for just anything at all that's current, try "Unread Content" -- which is accessed on a computer by clicking "Unread Content" in the rows of options immediately underneath the forum's header photo, and on a phone by clicking the "newspaper" icon at the top of the page.

If you're looking for something a bit more specific, start with the Home Page / Main Index (accessed by clicking on the forum's header photo), then click on whatever subforum you're most interested in and scan down the right-hand side of the resulting list for recent dates, and click on those sub-sub-forums and do likewise until you get down to lists of individual threads.  Categories with one recent post are likely to have lots more.

That's generally the case, yes.  Anyone can view them, certainly.  Some of the organizers appreciate new players checking with them first.   (If you ever did want to do a private RPG, by the way, you could use Private Messaging.)

Anyhow, yeah, please do give it a try -- either starting your own new RPG or reviving an old one.

Hello again, My-my! I just want to add … don't hesitate to resurrect seemingly "dead" threads, either. There's usually somebody around happy to give their two cents worth on just about any topic, no matter how old.

I'm curious … were you always a fan of Mycroft? (The "canon" version, I mean.) Or is it our Mr. Gatiss' illustrious depiction of said gent that turned you into a fan? I ask, because there doesn't seem to be much to go on in canon....

Right!  Some forums seem to have an unwritten rule against posting on inactive threads (I was once scolded for adding information that could have been useful to someone, if not the original poster), and some will even lock old threads.  But we actually welcome new input.

I just ran across a list of active members that I made about seven years ago, and I'm the only one who still posts with any frequency.  So what we have now is basically a whole new forum, and if you reactivate an old thread (by posting on it), then a whole new crop of members will have a chance to participate in it.

I was wondering the same thing -- so I second Arcadia's question.
