  1. No worries. I DID repeat myself a little bit but I'll see if I can edit it or something.
  2. Hello!!! Welcome to the forum. I just joined a few days ago myself. But I am enjoying jumping into conversations. - g
  3. As a new member of the forum, I am a bit late to this discussion as Elementary is probably half way through it's second season by now. I don't have much to say on this topic, I consider myself a lover of all things SH but I haven't been able to get into this show. I wasn't able to watch it when it first started because I had class that night and even though I was (and I think still am) recording the show, it took me a long time to start watching it. But after watching a handful of episodes I still was not into it and just not interested. I consider myself relatively flexible when it comes to different interpretations of SH. I LOVE the Ritchie films and I know they can be a bit divisive. But I just can't get behind the way this show is done. I KNOW that in the original canon, SH was a user. But I can't see him as an addict coming out of rehab. I just don't see Sherlock Holmes ever landing himself in rehab. I am not a shipper in any way. But I also have a hard time with Watson being a woman. I like that they have managed to make her a woman without making things romantic between them (so far). But I liked the bromance that was Holmes and Watson. And I do not mean that in that I want or think things were romantic between them because I do not think that's what it was and I do not dream about it being that way. NOT a shipper. I need to put that in my profile or something. LOL Maybe I'll give it another go someday. But so far, it's one version of SH that I'm not into. -g
  4. I'm obviously late to this conversation, as these movies have been out for awhile, but I'm new to the forum, so I'm catching up. I love ALL things SH. I love the original canon, I LOVE BBC's take on Sherlock. But I will admit, I've never gotten into Elementary, so I guess not ALL things. I have a hard time with Watson being a girl, and just the premise of the show doesn't work for me. I've tried to watch it. However, I LOVE the Guy Ritchie movies. I was disappointed in them at first, mostly because of RDJ's Holmes. As someone else as stated, I think JL's Watson is perfection. Right look. Right performance. I think he does a great job. But after seeing each movie a couple of times (I've seen them more than that by now) I just kind of take it with a grain of salt, and think of it as just another interpretation of SH. I know that in the canon, he was a strong and fit guy who could handle himself in a fight. But he didn't spend all of his time fighting. That bothered me at first that RDJ's SH is a fighter, getting in the ring and what not. But I've kind of grown to love his action hero take on SH, it's very modern and *blushes* kind of sexy. I do not like Ritchie's Lestrade. I am a big fan of Rupert Graves and his Lestrade and the relationship he has with Holmes and Watson. The detective in the movies is just too bumbling... or something. I don't know how to describe it. I'm not a fan. NO Moriarity is every going to beat Andrew Scott's performance. One of my top three villians of all time. SO perfect and insane. But Ritchie's Moriarity isn't bad. He's just not Andrew Scott. Una Stubb's Mrs. Hudson is another that just can't be replaced. I need to read through the canon again for many reasons but one of the reasons is because I don't really remember what impression of Hudson is given in the canon. Ritchie's Hudson is much different than Stubb's. I'm curious which, if either, is closer to the canon. Does anyone know? Maybe all this has already been discussed. I haven't read through all of the replies yet. I just wanted to voice my opinion while I was thinking about it. I can understand how some diehard SH fans would be turned off by the Ritchie films. But I really love them. - g

  9. Hi Megan!!! I have many friends who don't understand my obsession with my three favorite shows; Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Supernatural. I have some friends who like some of the shows and some who like others. But I don't think any of them are as nuts about Sherlock as I am. And it's not just the show. I love the original stories too. And as a big fan of Robert Downey Jr. I have even grown to love his Sherlock Holmes movies!!! Welcome to the forum!! I am new here too!!

  17. Hi everyone!!! I've spent the last couple of evenings trying to think of a clever way to introduce myself but I haven't been able to come up with anything. I live in Kansas. I am married, we have one cat and two dogs. I work part time as a special ed para and I go to school part-time studying psychology and Criminal Justice. I am a HUGE fan of Sherlock Holmes. I LOVE the Arthur Conan Doyle stories, I have read them all. I enjoy the RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies. And I am CRAZY for the BBC Sherlock. It is quite possibly my favorite show of all time. I've thought that for awhile but every new episode just cements it further. I wear an "I believe in Sherlock Holmes" bracelet 24/7, it makes a great conversation piece and allows me to share with people how great the original stories are and how much fun the movies and show are. I identify myself as a SuperWhoLockian, because the three shows I'm most obsessed with are Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock (Not necessarily in that order.) I haven't participated in a forum in a long time. So this is my entrance into the fandom world. Oh, I guess that's not entirely true... I am part of an Italian Greyhound forum that I participate in sporadically. Anyway. I am looking forward to joining in the conversations here and getting to know everyone!! Thanks for letting me be a part of things!! -g
