  1. hello, sara. welcome I share some of your interests too (books, art, history, marvel and more) ^^
  2. oh, tommy in sherlock? that would be awesome! he's such a great talent, it'd make the show even better not sure about the 3rd brother: I have always seen him portraying very passionate men and for some reason, I cannot see him paired to the "ice cold" Holmes bros that's only me, of course. he'd make an excellent villain, though. plus, he's a very good friend of benedict: it'd be very cool addition tot he series, that's sure! He played Loki though, and Loki is a pretty cold, calculating character. I'll have to check him out in some other roles, though. What all have you seen him in? Any recommendations? you're right. loki is mischieious and calculator, but he's got a passion about him that often surfaces, contrary to for ex. mycroft. but then again it's just my very personal POV I really like tom, so I have seen him in practically.. everything I also saw him on stage, in coriolanus, alongside gatiss. aside his loki roles (the avengers, thor and thor the dark world), I'd recommend several other films, all very different from each other: the deep blue sea (taking place in england in the 40'ies-50'ies), archipelago and unrelated (very introspective films by joanna hogg), the funny TV series suburban shootout, return to cranford (BBC period drama), the hollow crown (henri IV and henri V), only lovers left alive, where he plays a romantic and melancholic vampire (very good film).. these are just a few titles. hope it helps
  3. sherlock's new looks for series 4..? I wish I love benedict's new haircut: make him dark haired and it's the perfect sherlock. (source LFF portraits, The Imitation Game)

  5. side note: I'm pretty slow at this.. forums huge and 'm taking a while to read it all that said, I think it was you who posted a link to a sort of insight about His last vow in another thread (might be one about sherlock locations, sorry if I am being confusing.. ): anyway, I wanted to thank you for that link. it was very interesting and there I read for the first time this morn, the reference to janine's cottage and doyle's books (sherlock holmes retiring and raising honeybees). I sort of like janine: she's a smart, nice, honest girl and she has always been fair to sherlock. but I prefer molly by far
  6. you do and I love "my bunnies". hello, sittything and welcome. I'm a newbie too and still making my way through the MANY posts in this forum. I LOVE the stag night episode, as you can notice from my signature.
  7. hi yeah, maurice has been one of my fave films for yrs. all of ivory's films back from that time. lovely story (from forster's novel), pretty groundbreaking for his times (forster's I mean, not ivory oc.). and with a great cast as well.
  8. what I also liked of this part of the episode, is the miserable failure of sherlock's exact plan for getting a little tipsy but not drunk.. most of his plans never fail and I find it interesting to see the dinamics when one does..
  9. I'm slowly proceeding to shamelessly watch all benedict films. I have seen this too. I have to say it was good, but I was less than enthusiastic about it. it was really slow, IMO. I don't mind introspective movies, if that serves the plot purpose. I just found it unnecessarily slow at times. good cast though; very dramatic and meaningful story.
  10. it's silly (and very funny IMO), but probably one of my fave scenes in the series. shows both benedict's and martin's great comic talent and sherlock getting rid of his inhibitions (not necessarily a good thing, but interesting indeed)
  11. thanks, everyone
  12. I've read most of the "No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series to date (almost caught up). My husband and I both love those, with their gentle commentary on human nature. We also loved the television series, and wish it had continued. But I know the author writes other series as well. Which ones are your favorites? the whole edinburgh series (44 scotland street and the other 2). I recently got trains and lovers as well.
  13. it did cost a fortune, but I could get a couple of ticks too, matinee and evening show, in august, which I'm very happy about and looking extremely forward to. never been too much into shakespeare (shame I know, but I'm being honest..). last shakespearian stage show I went to though, was amazing and so it raised my interest. I have never seen benedict in person before and I'm of course pretty excited about that. I agree with those who stated it's likely hamlet will turn out a "nightmare" as far as the whole stage door crazyness is concerned. it certaintly has the potential. NTL was never an option for me: didn't even broadcast coriolanus in town. would have had to travel to a bigger place anyway.
  14. one of my faves as well. named one of my cats after lord sebastian flyte. aside conan doyle, some of my faves are tolkien, alexandre dumas, oscar wilde and patricia highsmith. I find entertaining the books by mrs kinsella- wickham, as well as the whole HP saga. lately I'm reading lots by alexander mccall smith. most boring book ever read? jonathan strange & mr norrell. IMO, of course
  15. hello, everyone. new to this forum, not to forums in general: used to post a lot in various fandom forums in past. lately been rather hooked on tumblr and sort of interact that way with other fans. I'm relatively new to the sherlock world (my addiction started this year), sherlock the series, that is: been a huge fan of conan doyle's novels for many many years: probably some of my fave books ever. I love both benedict and martin and recently thanks to the amazing coriolanus stage show, I got to know also gatiss' great talent. was so lucky as to see scott on stage years ago and loved him. I do think he does a great job as a raging psychopath (yes, psychopath and not sociopath, sherlock: I learnt my lesson ). loved rupert graves for years, back from the times of Maurice. so, basically I adore all the cast, molly and mrs hudson included, two of my fave characters. hope you'll be patient with me being not as skilled as many of you in this field BTW, LOVE the site! seriously amazing and so much to discover: still making my way through it. OK, I'll stop blabbing. sherlock would be annoyed cheers!
