  1. Gah. I'm not on Reddit (geography restriction sometimes) but I check it once in a while when I am able to. Look what I saw in the first post. AMA Benedict Cumberbatch. Looks legit. It's my sleeping time now and I have no idea when is this exactly but it's new and I leave it to you guys in case you want to participate.
  2. I don't know how to post video, hope the link works. I don't know how to embed it. https://sendvid.com/vh4lapgk I don't know the actual context. These are Belgian Malinois, one of the smartest and most discipline dogs. They are seriously amazing. I assume this is a training.
  3. This revolution could be shorter than Anglo-Zanzibar War
  4. Sigh. That would be hard to solve.
  5. I can't drink coffee for two weeks, most likely it's acid reflux. I hope nothing worse, but I can't drink coffee now. How am I supposed to write? I started drinking coffee in increasing dose since I start writing. But that's okay. I'm experiencing the wonder of growing old. I used to get up and walk after falling from a cliff and now I pull a muscle by breathing.
  6. Is it personal absence or the school only asks them to come once? I've only had this during high school, but she was an in-house teacher, which meant she was there daily, which should be the case.
  7. I had a few wild experiences with GPS. We have a lot of ‘non-proper’ roads and alley, sometimes we call it rat alleys. Even the roads can be inadequate at times. Serving two lanes but the lanes are tighter than Sherlock’s shirt. Two-way road that suddenly turns into one-way road half way with barely-there signs although everyone else seems to know about them! Roads that restricts cars without warning. The thing about GPS is, it only calculates the closest and the smoothest (blue, no traffic) way from starting point to the destination. It doesn’t care whether the roads have gargantuan holes, humping goats, or death-defying open side drainages. As long as there is no traffic, it will pick that road for you. I have experienced all above, it had led me to jungle, and no joke, water. Just like the episode in the office. It also had led me to a one meter (something something in imperial, sorry Carol) alley while I was driving. It’s common for them to mistake motorcycle’s alley for car. I know some places always have a wide enough road access but not here. Sometimes it led me to a neighborhood alley and the road ended just like that with barely enough space to turn back. (@%#@% However, I am grateful for GPS. There are many impromptu road closures here, and it’s helpful to renavigate. I have a love and hate relationship with it though. I wouldn’t take its suggestion when the road looks suspicious, I have learned to spot them well enough. However, sometimes IT IS the only road and I’d be surprised to see a small alley with big truck skillfully navigates all its humping goats while I was sweating bullets.
  8. You are right. That is how I treat them as well. By saying all those he should be able to prove that his work is a super quality. Sadly, while I don’t meant him, some people are ready to use money for anything, including buying reviews or whatever. Personally, I think that is against the purpose of writing, but what do I know about their purpose. I wouldn’t feel good and wouldn’t want anything fake. Most of the time, I’d just scroll and move on although sometimes I get worked up but my advantage is my time zone. I exist when everyone sleeps. It’s peaceful in the way and I miss most dramas. Weird. I hope it’s not a scam. A strange way of aliens trying to communicate with you? Good. Scam? No.
  9. I don’t know if it makes you feel better, or worse. From what I know, having children doesn’t guarantee this wouldn’t happen and that is, imho, a wrong reason to have children, whether it’s your own or someone you take responsibility with. I have seen many parents abandoned by their children or scammed for life only to be dumped when their money ran out. To me, it’s one of the most heartbreaking things that can happen, and this happened in a traditional culture setting while family is still a big part of life and kids are expected to take care of their parents and vice versa. It was in the news not long ago, that a banker had a hunch not to authorized a transaction because she noticed this elderly man’s reluctancy to sign on the paper to empty his bank account. His daughter stood next to him and kept saying her father had dementia and they had agreed on that and she kept answering questions on his behalf etc etc. The banker decided to write the question down and asked the man to pick the answer about whether he wanted it to happen and he kept picking no. They had a talk and her daughter was arrested because she had been stealing his money. He was of sound mind, but never reported her because… she was his daughter. Another elderly parents were locked out of their own house after being tricked to sign a paper. All those shit. Granted, good children exist but you know what I’m trying to say. On the other hand, not everyone is fit to be a parent, it’s a crazy responsibility and a forever commitment. I applaud those who do it well, I think they are angels on earth. I really admire them. I don’t think I am capable to take that responsible of raising another human well and that was one of my reasons not to. I spent my youth deflecting annoying questions of people asking me why I decided not to have children and their argument was who would take care of you when you are older? I told them to piss off and stick it when the sun don’t shine which I have learned it’s not real place because I was confused why people keep asking me to store stuff there when I live around equator. Again, not sure if it’d make you feel better or worse, I believe this is an unspoken worries of everyone. Even those with loved ones. I stayed alone and apart from my spouse for 12 years now and there were times when I thought if I died he wouldn’t know and nobody would find me for a while because I don’t have close friends here. If I was in an accident on the road, who would feed my dog and rescue him? So, I made my preparation like telling my dog’s original grandma where I hide my key in the garden and his water bowl is always filled to the brim whenever I am out etc and I try not to think about it anymore. For me, it’s not a problem if I’m gone, I don’t think I will care when it happens, as long as they are well. My favorite saying is death and stupidity wouldn’t be felt by you, but people around you.
  10. Yes, they are made from his brushed-out fur… at first. For the finishing touch, especially the head, I sneaked up on him with a scissor. He needs trimming every two weeks anyway. So, I just delayed the trimming and continue to do manual thievery. He ended up with uneven look here and there and I explained to people who knows him by sending them the finished mini Locky. No animals were harmed in this project except for my pride because of his judgmental and condescending look. Anyway, after it was finished, I had tidied up his fur. It was only a few days before I had to travel, so he is with his original grandma now, and usually when I pick him up, he is very hairy and fatter (like any grandma except mine. Story for next time, my grandma was really mean to me —> no exaggeration). I’m on the quest of accompanying mom for her cataract surgery, to meet my spouse, and then my brothers, when we’ll go to visit my hometown, the place where I was born. I haven’t been there for 28 years, since 1997! I have to leave Locky for two months which always break my heart but at least I know he is in a good hand. I guess I’d do anything to try to immortalize him, including painting and sketching, but I haven’t been diligent with it (just like this project). And here, I found one of the starting picture. He didn't even want to look at it! Now I hope you understand why I gave it up for so long! I used other fur for this frame work and the rest was his. It looked like a scary lizard for a long time. This is not the worse phase though, my sil wanted to send an exorcist at one time when I sent her my progress. Hope everyone is well.
  11. Yes, I do know what embroidery hoop is. We didn’t have it. I think back then when we didn’t have something, we just didn’t go out to buy it, because it was something ‘extra’ we could do without. I think my cross-stitch was also something very simple, most likely a handover from my older cousin. I only did a bigger scale, more serious one when I started working. I remember because we hung it at the office, my first job (we stayed in boarding house, so office made more sense) and I left it when I moved abroad and haven’t picked up that hobby again. The disappointment! But please, post it here I want to see I want to see. My friend made a turtle crochet for me, I think crochet is trending now, but I’d rather not try as I have too many neglected hobby. Anyway, this is Locky! I know it’s only my pathetic attempt to immortalize him. I have started making this last year or maybe two years prior. It started looking like a lizard, I don’t know where the photo is now, then I stopped for a long time before continuing it again, and now it’s finished just around the time I have to leave him tomorrow.
  12. It looks the same, but thank you for the help! Yes highlighting it! And I declare myself as a fan of Sherlock! What is the term again? Clot! Thank you! Couldn't crack that one myself. However, I'd be reluctant to enter a place where there is a warning about genital!
  13. I know this guy since he was a tiny puppy. He is technically still a puppy (less than a year with an adult-sized body). He has this obsession to groom me (those tiny harmless nibble) but he also likes to chew my arms. Helpless chews but can be painful after a while. Here he was trying to chew but after I growled at him he pretended not to hear me, act naturally as if nothing happened, and went back to nibbling.
  14. There are multiple levels of depth in this post!
  15. Can’t wait to see more Mycroft! Or maybe Sherlock and John? I have a plethora of brushes in my place. Although the one if your link seems to have a more dense and natural fur (?) than the ones I have. The second link feels questionable to me, as I think the material can get into it and create a whole shenanigan! I can imagine the scenario that reminded me of the time when I made cross stitch and sew my pajama leg, only realizing it after it was way too late. I had to destroy my progress, because the other option was going bottomless. I think I can find something else, it’s time to make sure of the junks I kept around just in case. Have you tried cardboard? But I assume it would be destroyed soon enough.
  16. @J.P I remember you made Mycroft’s felt doll which was very impressive. At that time I have only made a pengwing and dog in a cup, those very beginner level of craft that came with tutorials. and that is still my portfolio although I have an almost-finished WIP, Locky! I have collected his hair every time I brushed him and wanted to make his figurine out of his fur. I know this is only my desperate attempt to make him immortal but it’s a long project that I have been dragging with zero experience and knowledge except stabbing and stabbing. It started looking like a lizard but I can say it looks like Locky now. Will post pics sometime in the future. I know I have asked you before and you showed me the picture of your finger (not the one people usually show I know there is some kind of board to help because I saw them being sold together with felting kit. I have something that look like that white board (those that come with new appliance to protect the corners) but I’m not sure if that is the one and my lazy ass is too stubborn to look for them (I know I have it) so I kept stabbing myself again and again. I’m not sure if this is craft or self-torturing device. It’s hurt! I have those metal tip but it’s always easier to work with bare hands. So, I don’t know what this post’s purpose is. Even if you let me know what the protective board is, I’m not going to buy or look for it. So, do you have more Mycroft or other felt figurine? I’m always fascinated with others’ handywork. There was a time I was drooling with admiration because someone posted about the chainmail (yes those medieval thingy) they made themselves. Who doesn’t want chainmail! Okay, it’s my bed time. I have a long day. I haven’t drunk enough coffee today. It’s peopling day and maybe I’m exhausted that I remembered J.P’s Mycroft while I was stabbing myself. This sentence doesn’t come out well.
  17. Thank you! I have been wondering about redheads, but I just let it go because if I squint really, really hard I can accept it as red. Another language problem, all this time I thought advise and advice is just a difference in American and British spelling!
  18. Is it my setting because I can’t read the text without having a serious headache. Everything else looks fine. This is how J.P’s quote appears in my monitor.
  19. I pick my battle, if I think it’s not worth writing about, I wouldn’t try to reply. However, I have hope that maybe you want to consider another way to look at it regarding Lia Thomas and similar cases. Disclaimer: I know and read about her, but not to the extend of what the person Riley you mentioned was saying. I didn’t follow the news and I think that comes later. Another disclaimer, I am not a professional athlete, far from it. I played sports mostly in my colleague and only completed within my university. I didn’t train, I wasn’t coached, I played and competed for fun during bi-annual friendly events. One thing I would try to convince you, the physical ability of biological male and female is very different, which makes us better at different things. For example, I competed in wall/rock climbing (wall is manmade rock is nature) Women mostly rely on legs while men generally have better upper body strength. It’s easier for them to pull up with hands therefore the slanted, protruding terrain (imagine the ridiculous Tom Cruise’s mission impossible rock climbing, I would shit myself and die) would be easier for them since upper body strength play a huge part here. Of course, proper training might help and there are exceptions. When I did my first rock climbing orientation we had separate cliffs for males and females, and another cliff shared by both gender because we were only using tools (jumaring) and doing abseiling on that one. I competed my cliff, and they ordered me to climb another which I found out was for males. This was like orientation when we had seniors barking orders bootcamp style (and trying to find potential talents suitable for each specific divisions) so I didn’t know what was going on, I thought they were just picking on me. The ‘male’ cliff was like what I had described earlier, much more three-dimensional and I needed to use a lot of upper body strength which I barely had. Fortunately, it was nature, so there were many ‘things’ I could use, a little space to put my slightly smaller than average male feet or my fingers could fit into smaller cracks. Not all males could clear this wall and no other females were asked to try. This was our first cliff, we had no experience and were in various shapes, and there was daylight as the limit. However, apple to apple basis, during competition, it’s expected that everyone is familiar with the sport, not rookies like us. The physical difference is there and competitions are done at walls, the manmade environment wouldn’t help the way nature did. It wouldn't be fair to compete with different gender. Just like the swimming pool. I took a specific certification course back then which the requirements were the same for both genders. We had swimming pool tests, one of them was basic swimming, if I remember correctly it was 400 meter in under 20 minutes besides other water tests. I was the only female in my group back then and it was horrible. I was far behind, the time differences was not a joke. None of us were athletes, we were just trying to finish a course. However, during the 15 minutes water treading I was sparkling while the guys were struggling. While technique helps, females are generally more buoyant than males, we also need extra weight to keep us underwater. It’s just simple physical comparation by gender. When the test was to lift an 'unconscious' diver out of the water using a certain pulling method, I couldn’t do it. My instructor was big and although the method should allow me to lift him (according to him) I couldn’t while the guys did it. Again, it relied a lot on upper body strength where I stood at the edge of water and used crossed hands method to get him out vertically. I was lucky I didn’t crash into the water instead, but all I did was dipping him like a giant tea bag, trying and failing, bumping him on the pool’s edge enough times that he decided to end both his and my suffering. In sprinting. I won the female sprint categories but when I tried to do a sprint with my male friends it was pretty hard to beat them. The world records for both gender on 100 and 200meter has significant time differences. I can’t testify for other sports but both genders are built differently and it wouldn’t be fair to compete in the same sport that require mostly physicality. Some sports also have categorizations within its own gender like weigh classes in boxing. I think in Lia Thomas’s case, it’s not against transgender, but it’s simply not fair in sport terminology. Just like not using substance that potentially give anyone any advantages. It’s preferable to be apple to apple as closely as possible. If I were to compete professionally and lose to a biological man, to be honest, I would be pissed, too. Sore loser, I don’t know. No agenda, no hate to particular demographic, I think it's simple unfair. However, as I have stated in the beginning of the post, I didn’t know what this Riley person talked about, if it’s based on hate and if it’s a personal attack, that I can see why you are mad and that is not a behavior to be condoned.
  20. Sometimes I sit like this and contemplate about my existence.
  21. I believe that is an actual sign, but I didn’t see it personally, of course. I have seen weird translations but nothing was as hilarious as the ones that can be found in the internet. What J.P said. After your post I tried to google translate it and yes I think it means dried vegetables. Not sure how it leads to sexy/unsexy times but I wouldn’t role out trolls as well in translating it, or laziness, or wrong interpretation. As for the second one, if you really have to take it seriously, I think it only says that 90% of accidents are cause by humans. Yes, the walking, obnoxious, annoying, two-legged creatures. While it's probably confusing, there are accidents caused by animals or technical errors. I used to commute 40 minutes (one way) daily to my work place and there was a very long stretch of straight road. Almost every day I would see road kills, ranging from dogs to cats, goats, rats, frogs, and chickens, with the biggest percentage (more than half) was dogs. Saw some ‘technical errors’ in this deadly road as well. For example, they built a new lane meant for slower vehicle (this is also the route for commodity trucks). The bright mind of the people who were responsible for this project decided a high curb would be an ideal divider, WITHOUT making sure it would be visible at night. A bit of background, the same bright-minded government loved to save money by turning off street lights. I am not joking. I worked late before and had to ride in a long stretch of darkness because their rusty mind thought it’s better to turn off the whole lane instead of alternating the lights. It was a complete darkness except the light from my motorcycle. Besides roadkill risk and the possibility of bats and bugs hitting you, there were unpredictable obstacles on the road, for example, THE NEW CURB. I saw two cars (different time) stuck on the curb because they went right into it, hitting their chassis and potentially ruining the vehicles. There was no sign or glow in the dark material, it was a simple high curb in the middle of multiple road lane. The last time I went that route they had put up some signages. Well, this has become a full rant so I might as well as write about a terrifying thing I witnessed on one of my journeys to work. I saw someone dead on the road because she hit a parked vehicle. It was a government vehicle meant for landscaping. It was parked on the right side of the road next to the landscape island that separated the two-way road. We drive on the left, right lane is fast lane. There was no safety triangle or anything, and of course, it was pitch dark. She must have hit it hard with the motorcycle and was dead on the spot, helmet was still on, bike was a wreck, behind this vehicle. I still remember every detail. Gah! Here are a few more lost in translation but don’t think too much of them! I didn’t see them personally, I don’t really know what they meant but I’m sure the chicken is just an introvert.
  22. It’s the first one, yes, in the situation where you have no other choices but to park next to them and therefore follow their pattern in order to fit. This is applicable for cars and motorcycle although it’s easier to maneuver and adjust motorcycle. I have many colorful language to say about Tylenol gate and let’s say I wouldn't want to dig myself into a infinite rabbit hole so I’d just say (@#%!**#&* and #&!#&$%(*^&#%^$@*@* and #!&^#$%$*@!@ to remain healthy and sane. Hopefully this (#@*!^*&& doesn’t ever come near where I live. My rant for today: It’s amazing (not in a good way) for me to see how people fake everything. Maybe because it’s internet culture now, or maybe because they are too immoral and willing to do everything. I’m not talking about just not advertising yourself the way you are, fishing for stupid internet likes by doing and faking stupid things, the reason I quit Facebook decades ago, but something much more sinister like faking animal rescue videos. This is heartbreaking and making me have more trust issues. There are users and channels that pretend to rescue animals but in reality they are the one who inflicted the condition in the first place, or worse, it’s a reverse video. Besides internet, it happens in real life as well, that is why I am always skeptical with any charity and foundation. Other issues that I have seen more lately is people faking mental illness and disease, like pretending to have cancer or worse, munchausen by proxy cases. I can’t fathom, actually I am quite speechless whenever I read about them and the only thing I want to do is to throw them into the space. Are we the most despicable species? That is my shaking fist to the sky moment today.
  23. Can you identify two of the puppies below in the pictures above this?
