  1. ...and then when it was over the house felt so empty... same thing over here a month later. I think we're really good friends, MindPalace, we just haven't done the pesky "meeting" thing yet The same goes for the rest of you! Heh! Well I'm happy to talk to you any time the people in this forum need to stick together.
  2. I really can't even explain how I felt watching this episode! Honestly I was so excited about it and didn't want to miss a second that I left a family cocktail party early, got home, very quickly tidied my room and changed into comfy clothes complete with sherlock scarf and locket, made myself a whole POT of tea and just got ready for everything to hit the fan. AND IT DID. JESUS CHRIST. The survival theory parodies, the JohnLock hints, John's reaction to the fact Sherlock's alive, THE FLIPPING BONFIRE! Oh my god at that moment I sat there, hands over mouth, in absolute adrenaline mode. I could write a mile long list of the things I loved about this bloody episode but all I will say is my siblings (who were ironically watching it at the same time in their rooms) could hear my laughter and shrieking and yells of "WOAH WAIT WHAT" throughout the house. I cannot wait for the next episode and am not sure I'm going to sleep much tonight. EDIT: By the way who was it that predicted Anderson would hug Sherlock? Well you were right about a hug, it just happened to be Lestrade. Didn't see that coming.
  3. Indeed, Happy New Year you lot! Get the feeling 2014 will be a great one, and not long 'til we get our long-awaited season 3!
  4. Your school library sounds like it was awfully boring o_o both of the high schools I went to liked creativity, and whole one was the one to drive me mad with An Inspector Calls and The Speckled Band (yup we looked at Holmes stories yet I was bored senseless back then unable to appreciate it), the other school was the onl to have a proper library and it was really nice for only being in one largeish room. Lots of great fiction, I nearly lived in there. (I even had to write a brief crime story for English gcse, which had evolved over some years and I still plan on finishing.) Oh my god the rue morgue, I really must get to reading that! I love good old Edgar Allen Poe so much! I have a massive copy of Tales Of Mystery And Imagination.
  5. It's funny I only started getting into the detective and crime genres again after watching Sherlock, I think because until then English class at school had ruined my opinion of them by making each story into a boring map of graded analysis about grammar and all that. Forgive me if my answers sound like that of an uncultured child, but I do love a bit of Inspector Gadget, Professor Layton, and I've found a lot of detective-themed anime like Death Note (L is pretty funny) and Psycho Pass to be very interesting. I'm afraid sadly that some of the old classics just can't hold my attention.
  6. Actually wouldn't it be a real shock if he just stood there and took the hug? Imagine John being like "Wow, I can't believe Anderson's not been strangled yet."
  7. Oh god I can imagine him trying to and Sherlock just casually moving him out the way like "No."
  8. I watched the episode right after Christmas dinner and was very glad to have! It really was great to see Sherlock up to his old tricks again, even if only for a few minutes!
  9. Personally as someone with mild ASD I have often noticed some little behavioural traits I share with our beloved detective, but I never fully believed either way what he might have because nothing has ever been confirmed in canon and throwing a diagnosis on him otherwise would be slightly I nappropriate in my opinion. There's a character in the Big Bang Theory people have had the same speculations about, but he shows even more of the classic traits and the writers simply said they didn't want to label him. To be honest sometimes a character being given the diagnosis of such a condition in a show is not always the best thing, as while some use it for character depth or to raise awareness, others have made the issues of some mental and social problems into the butt of a joke. Very glad that this wasn't the case for Sherlock.
  10. Thank you for the welcome I'll be sure to get active as quickly as possible!
  11. Well hello there. I just joined the forum after feeling that my gradually growing "obsession" with all things Sherlock Holmes needed more productivity to come out of it. I have many nicknames to match my super messed up personality and many fandoms, but here I'll go by Hana. Not much to say about me that's actually relevant apart from that I got into Sherlock just a couple months ago and could never go back. Take a painfully slow thinker and add unobservant-ness, idealistic daydreaming and a smidge of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and there you've got me, but I'm trying hard to get better at not being an utter moron. So hi, hoping to make some friends here, feel free to make a few deductions while you're at it.
