Hello!

I am new to this forum and came for fun and discussion, but also for help! I am going to a Sherlock party tomorrow, and we are supposed to bring a Sherlock item. I'm a little stumped though. I could be bring my phone that says it's SHER LOCKED, but I want something that's really original and creative. There's a prize, and I'd love to win. Does anyone out there in Sherlock land have any ideas!

It would be ever appreciated!

:)

Welcome, Edenbrooke! Glad you found us to join the fun and lively discussions!

Wow, just one day....cutting it close for ideas...but hhumm.....there is always a skull and can call it Billy or a fake severed head, from the fridge, of course. A bag of fake thumbs, fingers, eyeballs, in a plastic baggy....for experiments, of course.

  A pink over night case....found in a skip....it's for a case!

First of all, welcome to the forum, Edenbrooke!

Second, hmm, a day doesn't leave a lot of time for preparations. Do you know how to do origami? You could re-create Sherlock's work from Sign of Three, that wouldn't take a lot of time or special materials.

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I'm going to take a pink suitcase! I have one already, and it would work well. I wish it wasn't so last minute or I would have done the severed head. I'm also dressing as a female Sherlock! It's going to be a fun night!

Don't forget to pack it properly!  Here's how John describes the contents in the pilot (from Ariane DeVere's transcript):

JOHN: There’s a change of clothes, a make-up bag, a washbag and a novel. (He sits back.) What’s impossible?

SHERLOCK: Her mobile phone.

JOHN: There isn’t a mobile phone.

And Ariane DeVere's description of the contents from her transcript of the broadcast version:

There are a few items of clothing and underwear – all in varying shades of pink – a washbag, and a paperback novel by Paul Bunch entitled “Come To Bed Eyes”.

I assume that any trashy novel would work just fine.  But do remember, no phone!  And the tag has her email address, to quote John: "jennie dot pink at mephone dot org dot uk".

Oh -- and welcome to Sherlock Forum, Edenbrooke!  :welcome:  Have a great time!

I doubt that the other guests would really care about her underwear.  That sort of detail just appeals to my obsessive-compulsive nature!

Thank you, thank you! I knew the contents of the clothing from Watson's description, but I didn't know what the book was! That was very helpful! Thanks all! I've got everything together for it! Can't wait to roll it around at the party and open it's contents for all to see! :)
