A forum is meant to be a playground and yet somehow I am always here alone; talking to myself!

Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness!!

I could be on at the wrong time, but then again there is usally only a few people on here and there anyway!

I love to play, yet I am alone!!

Maybe someone could help me with this??

Maybe suggest a time to come and play? Etc?

I really like the idea of this site, and yet I am failing to get any enjoyment out of it here all alone!

Why am I always playing by myself??

*giggles*

Forums are by nature asynchronous, with people being on at different times and still managing to keep a conversation, so I wouldn't worry too much about nobody else being here when you are :)

I guess as the forum grows in numbers, the likelyhood of people being around when you are will grow :)

Oh I understand that, but it can be a tad disopointing when you managed to get on and theres nothing to do.

Things tend to go by fits and starts around here, so there's a lot of material from the past few months that you might like to browse through. And do feel free to respond to whatever strikes your fancy -- as Banshee says, conversations can take place over time.

Ahh, finally someone who shares my sentiments. I will be more than happy to be here to converse with you when you are on. And possibly you could do the same with me. It's rather dull having no one to respond to my brilliance. What shall I call you by? Sherlocked? Or would you prefer Miss Adler? It's hard to know with that...rather...nice profile picture. Well, anyway. Catch. You. Later.

Oh CSI, its is rather nice that you complemented me on my photograph, I don't really mind what you call me, (Miss Adler etc) however if you choose to call me SherLOCKED could you spell it as such? The capitals are rather important to me.

I'd love to talk anytime, I am usually on at about 5:30 am London time on weekdays (I belive), however I tend to pop in when I have free time thoughout the day.

And I will try to be on as often as I can. I have a busy schedule being the world's only consulting detective. And also...I will...try not to constantly correct your spelling and grammar. That's just part of who I am, though. Where the capitals in your username are important to you, correct grammar and spelling are important to me. Till' the next time, Miss Adler.

correct grammar and spelling are important to me

In which case, you won't mind too much if I'm picky.... please note the tongue firmly in cheek btw... Posted Image

It should be 'til not till' as the apostrophe indicates the missed prefix "un" as in "until the next time" in your closing sentence.

Sorry, aely, but that's neither grammar nor spelling, it's punctuation! :D

*laughs* why even bother with it, I am often mispelling things or incorrect grammer as I write very fast. I must teach myself to slow down.

I may be technically a retired pedant, but I do keep my hand in! ;)

I was never big on spelling or grammer, as long as I can understand you than I don't mind

That's a perfectly valid point, SherLOCKED (I am also an eclectic pedant). As a friend of mine used to say, the purpose of language is to communicate.

I think you may care to note, aely, that it was Miss Adler's text to me. "Till' the next time, Mr. Holmes." So really it was Miss Adler that got her punctuation wrong, not me. (Really, I'm the Head of the Grammar Police....) I simply took what she said and re-arranged it so it fit my post. I was hoping someone would be clever enough to catch that, but it appears I was mistaken.

Yes well, we're generally not as clever as you are we? I'm just a boringly normal, sleep-deprived nurse; I'm only clever if it involves trying to stop people dying on me. It's a niche of cleverness if you like, I'm sure you're familiar with such a concept.

I take it that you're talking about one of her text messages in the show? That is really strange -- they usually seem to be very careful about details. Of course, they may have been implying that Irene Adler herself isn't a detail-oriented person -- except in her niche, of course!

Details are important, however I do not deem spelling as important as...other things.

As for Alder, well...
