How about a "Go to New Posts" link?

Recommended Posts

On the New Content page, there are basically two or three options for linking to a thread --

1. Click on the thread's title, which takes you to the beginning of the thread.

2. Click on the date & time of the newest post, which takes you to that post.

3. In a multi-page thread, click on one of the page numbers.

There does not seem to be any option for linking to the first unread (by you) post. I generally choose option 2, and then try to remember to scroll up a ways, to see if there are any earlier posts that I haven't seen yet -- but sometimes I forget.

Does this forum's software keep track of which posts (not just which threads) an individual member has not yet read, and is there a way to add a link to the earliest of those posts?

Thanks for looking into it!

I used to rely on email notifications of new posts to threads that I was subscribed to -- but then realized I was missing some interesting material on other threads, as well as missing brand-new threads. So I unsubscribed to everything and started using the New Contents page, which I really like, except for that one missing feature.

You can click on the bullet-point in any list view to take you to the first unread post of any thread:

It only works if there are unread posts in a thread of course. ;)

Thanks, Alice -- it's good to know that I'm not a complete idiot (or that I have company, at least!).
