Ah -- got it! I understood the "42" reference. It was the 2 x 21 part that didn't occur to me, because I was busy trying to make sense of it in my own way, with the base-sixteen number system that's often used around computers (21₁₆ = 33₁₀). But I suspect that we were both overthinking it, and "21 ... (again)" simply meant that he's in a holding pattern.

 

So here's to many more happy 21st birthdays for you, Tim!
