  1. Too much work. Maybe I'll just tweet Mark that if it doesn't happen in S4 I'm gonna die. Then he can tweet back RIP. <3
  2. My suspicion would be some place that Vertue/Moffit/Gatiss have already been to, checked out, and are comfortable with. SDCC - they know that venue. Might be LA, might not. I doubt it would be Denver or Salt Lake City. Either NYC, LA or San Diego.
  3. And in that clip that were already joking about S5 - so don't believe for one second that S5 isn't on the books already even if they can't officially announce it.
  4. Here's what I think about S4 - "It is NEVER twins, Watson." https://twitter.com/markgatiss/status/553930378227236864
  5. Because they're good storytellers! Given her function in the show (the unrequited love), if they'd married her happily off, there wouldn't be much else to do with her. Her scenes with Sherlock have frisson because you know she wants him to love her. Take that away and she could be any random character. I suppose they could make a side story for her, but the show always slows down if either John or Sherlock isn't on screen (I'm looking at you, Blind Banker.) Besides, this way they get to torment the Sherlolly shippers some more. :P I'd like to see her do something really ... big. I don't know what, just something that would knock everyone's socks off. And I'd give a lot to see her and Mary double-team the boys. And I'd like to see her short circuit Sherlock's hard drive again. :D Quite frankly, I don't think it takes much to short-circuit Sherlock. Pretty much anything outside of his areas of expertise especially regarding relationships is a cause for short-cicuiting. I'm sure if he ever had sex, he'd be down for the count.
  6. I suspect they work the finest for a writer who already thinks they're a good match. ;) I actually think they're a very bumpy ride match. Lots of baggage on both sides.
  7. Although Sherlock bears a few narcissistic traits, he is not by any clinical definition a true narcissist. One thing trait narcissists share is that they crave attention and think the world revolves around them, but with Sherlock, I don't see that. In fact, I think at heart he is a loner. I'm rather surprised he ever agreed to have a roommate in the first place, because I'm not sure it was a financial issue for him. After all, he had already moved in before having met John at all, so regardless of having met John, he would have managed to pay the rent. John maybe eased that burden some for him, but even when they were flatmates, they lived very separate lives except when they were working on cases together. Sherlock pays little attention to John's whereabouts. He's used to doing everything on his own which is his fallback mode. I know this has been discussed before, but if Molly is aware in S1 that he is attempting to manipulate her and she goes along with it, it isn't really manipulation anymore. She has a free will and does it. And by her giving in, she is manipulating him also - by getting to spend time with him, which is what she wants to do. A narcissist has a very difficult time owning up to poor behavior, and while he might play macho about it with John, he doesn't with Molly, and as soon as he realizes his mistake in ASIB, he is quick to apologize, even sealing it with a kiss to the cheek. Although he's a little dismissive of her in TRF with "What could I possibly need from you?" which he says so coldly (he's very stressed and not really trying to hurt her), she again corrects him that a thank you would be nice, and he does say it although you can see he's not sure why he was saying it, but when he comes around a bit a few moments later to accept her offer of crisps, she blows him off. They just keep missing each other. And then he comes back to her for help. They connect finally, if only on that level. I do think S3 was a game changer between them, however, and I am anxious to see what happens in S4 with them. There wasn't really any reason for her to break off with Tom if not to free her up for something more. As long as she carries any torch for him, no one else stands a chance.
  8. He has a public persona and a private persona, and even an ultra private persona.
  9. Although to play the Devil's advocate, I have been in Molly's place - the supportive one, the one who believes everything for him and about him and his future... and the piece of eye candy is what was taken instead (and six weeks later he got divorced... how's that eye-candy thing working out for you, bud???? - but I digress...). Anyhow, if something more were to develop in S4, I would hope that he wouldn't just pursue eye-candy. I hope he sees the true value in further developing something with the one who knows him the best.
  10. I think Molly HAS lost her hero worship. Her slaps in HLV should have proven that. She expects more out of him than what he's done just to prove something for a case. She says he has "beautiful gifts," and that's probably not a way that anyone ever in his life has described his gifts. Even he probably doesn't see them as "beautiful." She sees and believes in the man he could be and should be, and when he throws it away on drugs, she lets him have it. But notice that we don't see her again (discounting the MP sequences) until she is questioned and reveals that he uses her flat as a bolt hole. That's it for Molly in the episode. Have her words hit home? We don't know. There is no more interaction between them in HLV. When we get to TAB, her interaction in the morgue is feisty and confrontational. She puts up with nothing from him. That's how he sees her. And at the end of TAB when she is dressed as a woman, she is near him and is framed in warm light. That's how he sees her. Near him and with great warmth. Janine, meanwhile, does not stand out from the other women. Only Molly. She has never betrayed him, abused him, used him. According to her blog she was always aware when he was trying to use her to get something. If something more is between them in S4, it will be handled as a non-issue. And for those of you who think it is a terrible pairing, I suggest you try writing a little fan faction with them together. It's not always easy, but they work just fine.
  11. I think Molly will come under some sort of threat in S4, but I've been saying that even before we ever saw a trailer. And in some way I think Sherlock will prove his friendship to her by protecting her (not necessarily rescuing, just protecting), because he can say she was the one who mattered the most, but I think he will prove it, and that is enough to deepen their friendship. But they have a rough history, and she has no problem telling him off and setting him straight, so I expect a bumpy ride, especially if he's back on the drugs.
  12. Well, I don't ever see any big romantic story line for Sherlock. I could almost definitely say that it will never be the main focus of a story. But that doesn't mean that Sherlock won't experience that sort of thing. However, since Sherlock has traditionally not been involved in romantic entanglements, I don't see Moftiss blatantly breaking with that tradition. On the other hand, if S4 has any romance for Sherlock, I would suspect that it would be handled very subtly as a non-issue. Look how they treated John and Mary at the beginning - we were just presented them as a couple. No fanfare, all the romantic stuff had occurred off-screen during Sherlock's faked death. They have said relationships will be deepened, but they didn't say whose. And Molly is still around. She's been in every episode except HOB. She's been engaged and broke it off - because she was still burning a candle for Sherlock. I do think their friendship will be deepened in S4. Beyond that statement, I couldn't say in what direction.
  13. I thought about the swan but I haven't seen one I like yet (and I've seen many). But Mary didn't choose the swan, so it's not terribly important to me.

  16. Benedict is already on his way back to Los Angeles after wrapping Sherlock, and it is assumed that he is doing pick-ups for Doctor Strange.
  17. Yep, post production is also in full swing.
  18. Now they can all go home and chill out with the Olympics for the next couple of weeks... although some crew will still be working to get the set pieces disassembled and moved back into storage and to get that soundstage cleaned up.
  19. New promo - for TV.

  22. Yes, that was a straight flush, but a royal flush is as close as I could get in a charm. And a royal flush is also a straight flush.
