Hi there, Valeria! Welcome to the forum!!

This is it exactly! I can't see either of them fitting into the opposite era. They just fit where they are. The same goes for the Watson's. I think that the Burke/Hardwicke Watson is exactly what I imagined Watson to be. I really enjoy Hardwicke's on-screen chemistry with Jeremy Brett. I think it's friendly and very real feeling. I haven't yet seen the Rathbone version, but I hate the idea of a fumbling dumb Watson. It so doesn't fit what Doyle wrote.

Is "The Mentalist" a Take on Sherlock?
Erika replied to Banshee's topic in General Sherlock Holmes Discussion
I've been considering checking out The Mentalist for a while... now I definitely will. It looks interesting! -
I've been watching my way through Granada Holmes for the past month or so. It is brilliant! Jeremy Brett looks and feels like a Sherlock Holmes that is right out of the pages of Arthur Conan Doyle's books. The show is almost word for word as the novels are written, which I like a lot. But there are a few changes, which actually are better then the books i some ways I think.

Wow! That's an amazing find and awesome of her to give that to you! There's nothing like old books... especially ACD! I hope you enjoy them! They are just as fabulous as the show.

Willkommen im Forum!! I haven't practiced my German in years. Anyways, hi Alexandra! Glad you decided to join us here! I just started watching the Russian version a few weeks ago. I love it too, but I agree BBC Sherlock just has something special to it. See you around!

Moffat Breaks Silence Over Cumberbatch Rumours.
Erika replied to Undead Medic's topic in Movies & Entertainment
Too bad, he would have made an amazing Master! But I don't think Benedict would have time to do anymore filming this year. He's pretty darn busy as it is. But the for now is interesting. Hoping for Benedict in the future!!- 8 replies

The All Time Favourite Characters Thread.
Erika replied to Undead Medic's topic in Movies & Entertainment
Ianto Jones (Torchwood) Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1) Stephen Maturin (Master and Commander) Tom Paris (ST Voyager) Trip Tucker (ST Enterprise) Jamie McCrimmon (Classic Who) And of course Sherlock Holmes (canon, Granada and BBC) I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of right now! I tend to like shy, intelligent, loyal characters. They all happen to look good in suits as well.- 22 replies

Hi there, Sarah! Welcome to the forum!

Hello there, believeinsherlock!! Welcome to the forum!

Whoops yes, How I Met Your Mother. Sorry 'bout that. I've been trying to catch up on Classic Who too, but it's so tricky with many of the older episodes missing, and the DVDs are so expensive!! I've been trying to watch all of the really well known episodes as I can find them. I miss the Torchwood fandom at it's height. Those were good times. But there were some crazy fandom-war stuff going on. Torchwood fandom mostly survived after COE, but it's just been DEAD it seems since Miracle Day aired.
-
My faves are: Doctor Who Torchwood (except for Miracle Day ) Star Trek (I might be in the minority here, but my favourite is Enterprise and also TOS) Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis Big Bang Theory HIMYM 30 Rock and Granada Television's Sherlock Holmes

Oh, ok thanks! I'll pick them up when Amazon has them on sale. I'm a sucker for merchandise. Darn fandoms are killing my bank account.

I've been reading through the stories recently and I'm currently on Silver Blaze so I have still got a fair bit to go. My favourite stories so far have been the Adventure of the Copper Beeches, The Speckled Band, and The Boscombe Valley Mystery. I've been curious about the BBC Sherlock editions of ACD's works. Are they anyway different or changed, or is it just the intros? Either way I'll probably buy them eventually because I'm curious about what Mark and Steven have to say.

The Asylum Presents Sir Arthur Conan Doyles Sherlock Holmes
Erika replied to EvigMidnat's topic in Other Versions
It's not bad. The story is different, it's a bit far-fetched really with gigantic sea monsters. It's also not very high budget and you can tell. But it's fun as long as you're not expecting too much from it. Gareth is brilliant as always, but as aely mentioned... that waistcoast could have been measured much better! -
